tattoos?

I already have several tattoos and of course have plans for many more. Now, being pregnant that has bright me to do a lot of research. My findings are basically everywhere is that as long as its a new needle and ink there is nothing that will harm the baby. Has anyone ever had experience with this or know someone that does?

A reputable tattoo artist would not tattoo anyone who is pregnant, sick, generally unhealthy or under the influence.  There is a risk of infection and you run the risk of bleeding more as you have an increased volume of blood!  It is not worth it.

I found out I was pregnant before I was due for a day sess :-( was only 3-5 weeks pregnant and still wouldn't risk it infection is not the only thing to be worried about luvly when ur body tenses ur baby becomes stressed which can cause miscarriage tbh I think ur better to stay safe then sorry after 12 weeks your pregnancy flies by 9 months isn't that long when u actually think about it and unfortunately like every other pregnant woman and mother these are just some of the sacrifices u have to face for a child,  And of course it's your body your choices but if that was me I'd wait!  I'm booked in a couple of months after I'm due :-) I'm happy with that :-) and is something else to look forward to

I know how you feel!!!! By taikbone and hips are so painful I can only sit for 5 minutes! Can you imagine sitting for 6 or 7 hours getting a tattoo. That sounds torturous.

Don't need judgements. I can and have waited longer than 9months its not that I'm going to get a tattoo our need to, its just for the simple fact of being curious. In fact, right now i can't sit still for Longer than 20minutes before my hips force me to move. Sitting for a tattoo would be a bad idea right now lol. I know there are no artist that will tattoo a pregnant chick I've signed all the same paperwork as everyone else getting a tattoo. Again I was just curious on the risk. Thank you to ask the post that listed risks that gives me other avenues to research.

Infection is the only risk. Ink getting into your blood stream is a big fat myth. An artist might be willing to do it if your doc puts you in antibiotics before and after

The risk of infection. Like I said in my precious post....your immune system is suppressed so you are more susceptible to infection which infection fan definitely harm the baby. I have 2 sleeves of tattoos as well as my entire back done so I'm giving you my experience which is that the 13 artists I've worked with will not do tattoos on pregnant women for the risK of ink entering the blood, ink reactions from pregnancy related hormone changes, and infection risk increased because of immune system. I don't know anyone that would do one on a pregnant women for these reasons. Just my experience.

Absolutely no tattoo artist should tattoo sa pregnant women. My hubby is an artist and would not even consider it. There is to much risk of infection to yourself and ur child.

The ink can get in your blood stream and your blood is crucial to the baby so that's why my tattoo artist won't tattoo me right now

What risks? I'm not going in this blind. I've read a lot. I would never ship anything to harm my baby. Nothing i have read has said anything about risks. That's why I'm asking for experiences.

There is only one tattooist where I live and he refused to do a tatoo until after I'd had the baby and my sister in law went to get one done in another city while she was pregnant and they refused her also. Not sure exactly why that is because the needles are always new and clean I think it's a just in case thing to protect themselves.

Ya my tattoo artist won't tattoo me while pregnant either. Makes you sign a form. He says because ink reactions can happen and also since your immune system is suppressedbduring pregnancy your more susceptible to infection.

A good tattoo artist will not tattoo you. Mine has you sign a paper that says you aren't pregnant.  It's better to wait until after you give birth. There's also risk of the ink not holding.
