thoughts?

I have a 6yr old step son, I am pregnant with my first, which is a girl. I never really wanted my own kids but now that I am pregnant I am happy about it. I talked to the doctor about getting tubes tied after I have her, he gave me a paper to sign and I signed it on the spot he let me know that it's irreversible but I had the option to say I changed my mind up until it happens. Has anyone had their tubes tied and regretted it? Or ended up successfully pregnant after?

Lol he's afraid of what they might do to him...they might cut it off or something idk. As far as thinking of it being irreversible, that is how I am thinking of it. I don't want anymore. But just wanted to know if there had been people who successfully did get pregnant after, whether through if or the reversal of the tubal ligation

I would not get your tubes tied with the thought of undoing it at some point.  It's considered permanent birth control.  Untying (which only works if they use the clamp method and not severing the tubes which is more common) is not always successful and there are not guarantees.  And pregnancies after tubal ligation have an extremely high rate of being tubal pregnancies.  As it is considered permanent, I would think about it THAT way if you decide to do it.  good luck

I haven't had my tubes tied, but I was one who never wanted kids for personal reasons. I ended up finding out i was pregnant with my first 4 years ago in January. After I had him, it wasn't long until I wanted another one. Now I have 2 boys and am currently pregnant with a girl. I believe that after this one, assuming everything goes okay, I will want to look into permanent birth control solutions.
