tmi..

So I'm 39+3 and showing no signs of labor...I've been reading that walking and sex seem to be the two main things that help get the process going. Although I try to walk as much as I can...I have absolutely no sex drive. Which I feel bad for my hubby because we haven't done the deed since the beginning of my second trimester maybe even before then..so my question for you ladies is..does masterbating work just as good? Does it help with dialating? Any advice would be most helpful.

Semen helps to soften the cervix because it contains prostaglandin. Nipple stimulation and orgasms can cause contractions because it causes your body to release oxytocin.

Maybe I'll try the nipple stimulation...even if it doesn't help ..at least it'll feel good lol.

Nipple stimulation has been very successful in getting things going, but you have to so it for a few hours I believe. It releases oxytocin, which gets your cervix going. Sex and masturbation and any good cuddly happy feelings also release oxytocin, but the nipple thing seems to so it more.

I've also read that stimulating  your nipples can  start labor? Which you can  do yourself. Just an idea, not sure if it's true, but what's the harm lol

Semen softens your cervix. It is orgasm that can get contractions started (same muscles)

I think it has to do with something in the sperm that helps you dilate.

Ask the doctor to strip your membrane. Its a natural way to induce you. Took a day and a half to work in my first pregnancy.
