My son was about 18 months when i switched him. He didn't cry but there was about a week of having to constantly put him back in his bed until he figured out having a big boy bed didn't mean he could get up every 10 mins
My son was just about to turn 2 when he discovered he could climb out of the cot so we converted it to a bed. He loved it with his own duvet and pillow and a couple of teddies. Bedtimes are great, we lie on the bed for story time then he goes straight to sleep, I made such a fuss of him being such a big boy in his own bed we had no problems :)
Well my little girl now.....sleeps half the night before wanting to sleep in the bed with me..she doesn't care to b in her crib. She can'tclimb out or aanything but just concerned when Iswitch how toake her stay in her bed lol
My best friend though switched hers at 1 yr and did just fine!
I say as long as they are happy in there keep them in it! Lol my son is almost 2. He can climb out of his crib but he only does it if it's a saturday.morning and he's said mommy! Daddy! Too many times.and we don't come in (hoping to grab a few more moments of sleep!lol). Otherwise he stays. I KNOW if I put him in a toddler bed it's going to be a battle to keep him in it. I just don't have the energy right now. I'm thinking closer to 3 we can make a big deal out of picking out new sheets and such. Then he'll be happier about his new bed.
My oldest son was about 17 months when he went to a toddler bed n my second son was about 4 months when he went from bassinet to the crib now my 2y/o sleeps on the couch n my 14 m/o sleeps in bed with me.
My rule was always to keep them in the crib until they could climb out.
My oldest was 2 and my younger one was around 18 months. They both love it. It's a privilege :)
Not.my youngest. he just took awhile to stay in it. keep getting up and running out to the living room. I'd start before the new baby comes. But my.oldest was awesome didn't get up ever..
No I made a big deal about how she was getting a big girl bes just like mommy she was thrilled
Ladies was it a huge adjustment for the kids...did they cry
I think whenever they can crawl up and over it's time to switch
Mine was 3 before I switched (which is late i guess)but 2 is def acceptable. Depends on the kid and their independence
