uncommon but not crazy name

My husband and I have decided on damon jax as the baby's name. We weren't going to tell anyone but family members asked and we told (ugh) and they don't like it.  I feel pressured now to change it. I don't want family to hate our child's name. :(  I don't see anything wrong with it though shuts anyone else?

That's a lovely name really nice makes me think of Damon from vamp diaries lol i hate that so many people think they get to inform you that you can't name your own child something you and it's  father agree on. If i didnt love my daughter so much I'd name her princess consuala banana hammock just because I can :) lucky for her Emily will have  do. I don't care that most people in our family think we should go with daisy or poppy etc  ☆☆

No, not really, the biggest problem he has is people pronounce his name Damien.  He hates that.

Momma1529 has your hubby ever been told his name means demon or devil? I'm sure that is what our family has reservations about but the name in no way is connected to the devil and is in fact a nice greek name..the stupid omen movie had to ruin the name/derivative.  I also think they don't like it because we didn't choose any names they liked.

I think Damon is a strong masculine name! Love it!! with my first son everyone hated the name, until he was born...then suddenly it because "such a perfect namefor him..." My daughter we kept the name a secret which was great (minus the harassment from people wanting to know) and this time we have mentioned it and family do not like it, but our dr loves it...so we decided that once we make a final decision no one will know until the birth certificate is signed!!

If our baby had been a girl we were gonna use luna lorraine but my mom hated it and was so rude i was gonna use it anyways but tada i'm haveing a boy lol

Me and my sisterbhad this argument the other day and she made me so mad I had a girls name picked out but were having a boy so it doesnt matter but at the time before we knew it really bothered me. she liked one name and I liked another, she hated mine and I didnt like hers I snapped in the end because she kept goin on and on about how she hated mine, and how my daughter was going to be picked on because of the name we had decided on but she couldnt see that just because she didnt like it doesnt mean that everyone would have the same opinion! But I told her and I firmly believe it, its our child and we will name it what we like! :-) . . . Myself and partner also said next time around we wont tell anyone the names we decide untill we register the baby so it wont matter what anyone else thinks!

Hmm I could be wrong but doesnt damon have the same meaning as damian which means 'demon'..sorry if not but you might want to check into that.

I think it's a good name and as my husband says whenever anyone including our family gets pissy "they'll get happy in the same damn pants they got mad in"
