Glad everything worked out for u!!!
The problem was that my dentist wanted to put me to sleep to do any work. And that was out of the question. :)
Thanks guys! Great news. I went to a new dentist and he was amazing. He did a root canal. Well most of it. The tooth was badly infected. He numbed me like there was no tomorrow and it lasted 10 minutes. My body started shaking so he finished up. He got the root canal almost completely done. I will finish my antibiotics and Monday he will do a build up and he said that I cam wait for the crown until after baby is born. The dentist wanted me to take Tylenol 3 or Perc's. He wrote me a script for 5/500 vicodin (even though it hasn't worked at all) then I headed to ultrasound. Ultrasound went well. Dr is very pleased with the work that's been done and he agreed with the fact that I need something stronger for pain and he wants me to try Perc's instead of Vicodin or Tylenol 3. The perc's are 5/325.
When i was about 12 weeks i got a cyst removed and they perscribed me percocet 5mg. I was in sooo much pain but only took about 5 total. Just use when u absolutely cant stand it
Yea go to a different dentist. You can have the tooth extracted in your second trimester, my step mom did, she got all her wisdom teeth taken out. Thats extreame though. I know i can and I just came from the dentist to get a filling cause my teeth are terrible and one piece of the tooth broke off, got it fixed to.
I am a Dental Assistant and there should be no reason you are not getting treated. Once you are in your second trimester you can have work done. Speak to you OB and get a clearance letter from him/her and that should help you get some treatment.
I have had the worst tooth aches ever this pregnancy. I need to get at least 1 tooth out, maybe 2. They want to wait till after baby, but the pain coming and going just *****! It is the worst thing ever. There are some natural things you can do that I would try first. Clove oil put on your tooth and gums can ease the pain. The best thing. I have found so far though is to get a clove of garlic and bite down on it and kind of mash it a bit with your hurt tooth and hold it there for 5 min at least. It burns like heck for the first minute or so, and the taste isnt great, but the relief you get is so worth it! Its seriously amaizing, the best part is it can actually help clear up your infection. You can also put a cotton ball in a paste of salt and baking soda and put it on your tooth, it eill help with the pain and draw out the infection, a tea bag on your tooth can help draw it out as well. The garlic is the best though. I hope your able to get it pulled soon, there have been times with mine that I have been ready to grab pliers and pull tge dang thing myself! Ive given birth naturally 3 times, and prefer that to the tooth pain, at least you get something good out of it, and the pain goes away!
I hope you feel better soon! Its probably worse for you to have reoccuring infections and pain then the vicodin at this point. Try not to worry on top of feeling like crap (I know much easier said than done). I hope they can get that tooth out soon to give you some relief!
Thanks! At least I am not alone. My Dr wasn't concerned with risks. My blood pressure was high due to so much pain and suffering. But it still worries me
I had a friend who was pregnant and prescribed vicodin and het doctor did so cause the benefits outweighed the risks. She was in so much pain that it was putting her at risk for preterm labor and the baby was already mostly developed.
