I have that problem mainly with my mom my son is her only grandchild it seriously takes 45min to pick up all the toys to vacuum and it sounds horrible but I was hoping for this 2nd to be a boy so I wouldn't have everything all over again in pink! Toys that my son doesn't really bother with I give away to other kids that seem like they'll enjoy them and or sell come spring. if uve asked repeatedly to please bring no more like I have that takes alot of the guilt out and its ur house to say what stays and what goes. If u keep saying all u need is diapers and ppl still bring gifts thank them for it and wait maybe a couple weeks to gwt rid of it if u know ur never ever going to use it
One of the ways to ask not to have toys is to request alternatives. For example with my babyshower, I really didnt need anything for the baby so I requested all my guests to write up a story for the baby with a good moral which will be combined into his very personal story book. Everyone loved the idea and they stuck with it. So for me it was something useful and less space taking.
In addition, I also requested no gift boxes on the invite. May be you can take those avenues. And if all else fails and you still get presents, you can alway donate them to a local children's charity organization. :)
Good luck :)
I agree with asking for an alternative. I know what you mean with having a lot of toys my daughter has soo many and doesnt even play with half of them.
Thanks! We are just completely out of room! Lol.
