weight & snacks

I'm a ftm and is at 19 weeks & 1 day. I was curious about how much weight I should of gained since my pregnancy. I'm afraid that I'm under weight for my baby and that she will be under weight when she gets here. Any suggestions on snacks or meals to gain weight?

You should be fine. I gained 40lds and that's not good. As long as baby is growing, you should be fine.

If your ob isn't concerned I wouldn't worry about it...I've only gained 1 pound and I'm 29 weeks..only gained 10 pounds with my first and she was 8 pounds when born

I've only gained 4 lbs and I'm 20w5d. It all depends on who you are. My mum lost 60-80 lbs in each pregnancy and was healthy. Don't worry unless your doctor is concerned about it. :)

That said - the full meal shakes are good (I love carnation instant breakfast.) Also you can try snack things like carbs and fatty foods. Nuts. Breads. Protein bars. Peanut butter. Cheese. Milk. Yogurt. Whole fat dairy. Fruit. Avocado, guacamole. Heck splurge and have some ice cream and pizza. Just not every day ;)

I would only worry about what your ob days about your weight gain. Everyone gains a different amount, at different times. If you are eating 2000+ calories per day from healthy nutritious sources - dairy, veggies, fruits, protein, and taking your prenatals you should be healthy even if you aren't gaining a ton.

If you go to the home page on here it has something about current weight. So every time you go to the doctor just put your weight in, it'll tell you if your gaining the right amount each week. I was always worried about the same thing.

If you  don't think you're gaining enough you should try a supplement shake or drink....boost, enfimil or even carnation instant breakfast....they are all descent tasting and have many many flavors to choose from.
