what is safe for pain?

I just had my baby on the 3rd and I am currently breastfeeding. The doctor prescribed me vicodin 10/325's and they were supposed to be Norco's. Well I took them assuming they were Norco's and my baby was sleeping a lot more and seemed slightly loopy. Needless to say I am no longer taking them and my baby is better.

With that said I am curious as to what pain medicine would be safe to take while breastfeeding? It hurts to move around and the initial sitting down and standing hurts too. I know I just had some traumatic stuff happen down there and it takes time but I need the pain dulled a little bit.

Thanks for your help and advice in advance.

Doctors in my area prescribe 800 mg of ibuprofen unless you have had a csection and then they also prescribe percoset which I never noticed affected either of my first 2 kids but only took for a little over a week.

With my 1st, doc gave me Motrin 800's because the tearing was so bad. Perfectly fine for baby and breastfeeding.

Tylenol is safe. Also try ice packs. They help a lot. Good luck sweetie

Norco is another brand name for vicodin. If you need them try taking just a half tab.
