Thanks ladies for all the comments I have one more day til the ultrasound and I'm so excited. They didn't say if they were doing a vaginal u/s or not, but it doesn't matter either way. I can't wait. My boyfriend was also wondering what to expect and I told him alot of u said the baby looked like a gummy bear. He said don't call my baby a gummy bear lol but thanks again guys!

I had one at 8 weeks and 3 days and the baby looked like a little gummy bear. The arms and legs were just starting to form. Like others have said, they will probably want to do one vaginally.

With my first, the did it on my belly at 9 weeks and it just looked like a bean. With this one they did vaginal ultrasound at 9 weeks and I saw the head, heartbeat and limbs!

I had an u/s and baby measured exactly 8 weeks 2 days- actually looked in between a jelly bean and a baby- you could already see the arm buds- so cool!!! I will upload the pic to my page so you can see =)

I had mine at 9 weeks.  She did a vaginal ultrasound, and we were able to pretty clearly see a baby in the uterus.  The head looks huge still, but you can tell what it is.  And, the heartbeat was very cool to hear, too!  Have fun...enjoy it!!!  Nothing about the vaginal ultrasound hurt for me.

Are They Doing It Vaginal? If So You CAn See "It" But It Looks Like A Blob. You Will See The Heart Beat. Only Part I Thought Hurt Is When She Looked At My Ovaries With It.

I had one at 8w2d and I saw my LO (I agree it looked more like a gummy bear, ha ha).  You should at the very least see the heartbeat.  Good luck and enjoy!

We saw our baby at 6 wks. It was really small, but still could see and hear the heartbeat. Be prepared for both external and internal ultrasounds. They want to be able to see everything. My doctor also did a pap smear since it had been over a year. Nothing to worry about though, it's all part of it!

Girl don't listen to your brother's wife or me or anyone else. Every baby is different and every pregnancy is different. We listened to other people swear up and down how things were going to be and that they just "know" I'm having a girl. But the truth is- they don't know and my motherly instinct was right and we're having a boy :) just enjoy your pregnancy and take what others say with a grain of salt.

I had one at 8 weeks and they couldn't see anything from my tummy. Honestly they will probably want to do a vaginal one there with really be nothing to see just a speck that has a heart beat  but I love my speck and now I'm 18 weeks and can't wait to be 20 so I can see what my speck has turned into and that beautiful face

At 8 weeks on the dot I saw my little baby ( who looked more like a gummy bear at that point) and saw his heart beating and heard the heartbeat as well :)

You will see a little circle which is the yolk sack and hopefully you'll be able to see the little heartbeat. Good luck, very exciting!

The baby is still too small to see properly. It will look more like a little jelly bean lol xx
