when can you start hearing babys heartbeat?

I am 9 weeks today. Was wondering if it is possible to hear the heartbeat?  This is my 4th pregnancy.

On ultrasound you can usually see and hear it by about 6 weeks. By Doppler you sometimes can't hear it untill 12 weeks.

I would imagine it would depend on what your using. My midwife wouldn't even try when I saw her at 9 weeks. She said you can hear it, but not always, and not always clearly.
