when will labor begin?

Im 39 weeks today. I was checked at my last visit and was 1 and 1/2 cm's dilated. She said my cervix was really soft to. Not sure what effaced means or how it happens? I have bad groin pains, pelvic pains, and every now and then i get a pinch in my inner upper thigh. It feels like she is gonna push out my vagina and butt to. Have a lot of braxton hicks and painful ones to but nothing regular. The baby is moving waaay more than usual as well. Excessive amounts of gooey discharge nothing pink or anything just clear and yellow. Sorry if that was grose just trying to list all my symptoms. I also have a weird shortness of breathe with what feels like heart palpitations when i lay down i did not experience that with my 1st 2 babies. Do you think labor will start soon? Please any help would be appreciated thank you

Labour is near you are at 39 weeks ;) it's too hard to tell how close. I'm 38 weeks 3cm, 20% effaced and very soft cervix, I was the same with my first and went 9 days past my due date

It's hard to say. You could be stuck at 1.5cm for another week or two or it could happen anytime now. Also, your mucus plug might not necessarily have pink in it. It can look like a big gob of snot too (yellowish).
