7do positive OPK negative HPT

I know it's early, and I also know that OPK isn't a completely reliable confirmation of a pregnancy. But the moment the urine hit the test, the positive line got incredibly dark...faster and darker than I've ever seen with just my ovulation. I tried a HPT after and it was negative. I'm pretty certain I am pregnant, something in my gut...but I've been wrong before. Has anyone ever gotten these results and later tested positive on a HPT?

With my son, we weren't 'trying' but we also weren't preventing...two months off the pill, and BAM, pregnant! Now, 6 months into TTC, I'm just ready for one of those damn HPT to smile warmly back at me and give me a high-five...which honestly, I don't think is asking too much. :)

It's ok to dig for hope, you're not alone in that. I've never TTC (both my pregnancies were unplanned) but I have had times where it was suspected and the wait was terrriblle. I wasted so many tests because of it.

Thank you for your input and support! I know OPK's aren't supposed to be used to determine pregnancy, but the LH hormone and the hCG hormone are extremely similar, so a OPK will pick up either, where as a HPT will only pick out hCG. I guess I'm just digging for hope...haha. Anything seems better than desperately waiting for the 'right' time to test...

I can't say I have. When I tested it was with a HPT. Definitely try not to get your hopes up, as OPK's are not built or meant to be used outside of testing for ovulation. If you are pregnant however, a test should be accurate. For best results take it with first morning urine. Good luck!!
