Brown discharge, instead of period? Is this a sign of early pregnancy?

I'll lead you with some background information.
During the months of June and July I had unprotected sex, about 4 or 5 times. Ending towards the middle of July. In August, I had one incident, about a week ago, where the guy did not ***. We didn't really finish having sex, because I stopped it so it only last a few min.
On July 25th I got my period. It started off really light and light pink for about 2 days then finished off regular. Since I had some pregnancy symptoms (tender breasts, fatigue, mood swings, cramping, frequent urination) I took 2 tests, after my period just for some peace of mind.
They both came out negative, so I didn't think much about that anymore.
I continued having cramps though the rest of the time, still am now. They feel like menstrual cramps and they come and go, and sometimes I'll get like shooting pains in my groin, when I stand up fast or something like that. They don't stay long enough to hurt.
I expected my period yesterday (Im on a 25 day cycle) and it still hasn't come.
Last night at work, I felt cramps. Like period cramps. I expected my period had come.
I went to the bathroom and when I wiped I noticed a brown discharge. I thought it was the beginning of my period so I lined my underwear with tissues (I didnt have pads or tamps). I went to the bathroom every hour or so to check things out and each time I saw nothing on the tissues, I wiped and after the first hour there was nothing there. There was no need for the tissues.
I took them out and still no period. No brown discharge either.
I'm having weird symptoms like the cramps, lower back pain, and a headache that hasn't gone for 2 days (I get migraines often though). I also, have very sensitive nipples and feel bloated for some reason.
My question is should I re-test? I mean the last tests I did were negative, so could they have been wrong?
Is brown discharge instead of a period, a sign of early pregnancy?
It could have been brown spotting, but it was really only there when I wiped and only lasted a half hour or so..
It can't be implantation bleeding because that comes before a period, and this is around the time I would expect my period.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Btw, some extra details. I'm 20, and I'm usually very regular.
There was no smell or pain with the discharge.
Also, experienced some random nausea this morning before work. Just dry heaved a couple times.

I'm having about the same problem. So two months ago I had a normal menstrual. Maybe a day early or a day late. Normal. Lasted a week. A week goes by and I start bleeding again. Only when I wiped it was very light pink then turned brown. Lasted about four days. Took a pregnancy test two weeks later. Negative. Now last month my menstrual came two weeks late. Normal flow but rich in color than usual. Again latest about a week maybe a day or so earliee.now this month my period is about a week or so late and now I just spotted some brown discharge and mucus. Two days ago I took a pregnancy test but was negative.its like what the hell is going on. Last month I had every sign of pregnancy. Some this month but it also seems like the same signs for when your menstrual is coming. I'm also very sexually active with my boyfriend. We don't use protection and he bust in my lime every time. Now the last week or so we haven't as much due to our schedules with work changing up and what not. So the last time was this past Sunday. Four loads. He's gotten woman pregnant in the last but they all have had miscarriages .sad to say. Then I'm worried about an epodic or whatever it's called pregnancy.hope someone can help me out and let me know.

So how can I tell I am prego?
On the 31st of October 2013 I had sex and later on in hours I had blood then next day or few I felt weird no throwing up

I had sex about a week ago... I knew the day after something wasn't right because I had all kinds of pain when I slept on my sides... it was 6 days before my period! now that my period was due Sunday I didn't get it! I went from having a brownish discharge last Thursday to a light pink that night then Sunday I got a really really light brown discharge it's almost white! Right ladies, im having abit of a dilemma myself....

Im currently on the pill (microgynon) and have been for the last 16 months and i havent exactly been an angel with it, missing the odd pill here and there.

Since Ive been on the pill Ive always come on my period within my week break but last month that didnt happen....

I took 2 clear blue pregnancy tests within one week as I was coming up to 3weeks late and both came back negative and then a couple of days after that I had some light bleeding which I thought was the start of my period but it was VERY light, literally spotting for 2 days and brown discharge.

I dont feel pregnant but I have been feeling nautious and bloated and thats about it!

I dont want to keep thinking Im pregnant cos it could be anything,

If anyone could give me some advice if would be much appreciated!

Hi ive been off of depo for coming on two months now and three days ago i had brownish red discharge then the two days in between it was really light red and then today its brown again. not only when i wipe but it came onto my underware.I've had unprotected sex during my ovulation and now im having mixed signs. Can anyone help .... Friday the 18th of may I had a strange day felt very nauseated felt as though I was coming down with something ... Thought it it was out of the ordinary and was actually sick in my mouth after eating a yogurt so I decided to do a test as it was 5 days past ovulation but the test came back negative but thought it was strange to be feeling sick ... 19th I felt the same sick tired and felt dizzy all day ... The 20th was out fr the day and had feel harsh stabbing pains in my belly in the right side but didn't think anything of it after this on the 20th I continued to have slight twinges in my right side and sometimes shooting pain across my belly but as my period was due on the 27th I put it down the my period maybe coming early ... But when the 27rh came my period didn't arrive ... My period then arrived on the 29th but was brown/ light brown discharge .. But only when I wiped I took another test on the 29th and it was still negative... I feel as though my boobs are bigger and I have a couple of spots appearing on my face an the sickness is t there unless I'm hungry ? It is now the 31st of may and the brown discharge is still there no bleeding and the cramps are really harsh ... I feel tired but I just put it Down To working. Also last night I didn't have a very good night sleep an was tossing and turning all  night and didnt feel comfortable in my body ... If that makes sense? I have unprotected sex two weeks ado. My period was due two days ago. But I took a pregnancy test on monday which was three days ago, from the dollar tree. It came back negative. Now im having brown discharge and spotted last week. Am I pregnant? Should I test again? Boobs are a little tender and have been for a week. Im 15 dpo. Smells get to me lately. Should I wait a week? I haven't been stressed out and a friend told me it could be because I know im not pregnant maybe. I told her I feel pregnant but that for some reason it seems normal. Advice?

Alright so last April 2010 I went on the shot, well only for the first 3 months then I had periods/brown discharge the whole 3 months then I was supposed to go get my second shot but didn't. still I had brown discharge 3 months after that on and off. Finally back in September I went to the doctors and explained to them, they prescribed me with bc pills for 3 weeks to have a regular period again. I did as told and after 3 weeks I finally received a red period again but I think that was due to my bc. Anyway, every month after that,until today January 19 2011 time
Im supposed to have my period I just get brown discharge for a few days. That has been happening for 3 months and every pregnancy test I ever take comes out negative. what can this be?

Hi all I am having the exact same problem. I am having the horrible brown discharge, which only seems to appear when it should be my period, my last period was from the 25th of July to 30th July, at first it was normal but then the brown goo started, then I didn't have a period in August round the same time and have only started yesterday 7th September with the brown goo and no normal period, I did a preg test in august which came back negative, but am experiencing fatigue and nausea I am really confused with this whole lot as I am not sure whether or not I am pregnant could some one give me some feed back?

I dont remember the exact day I started my period last month but I do know for sure that I was on my period on Dec. 24th and 25th. I thought I would have started my period by now but instead I have had very little brown discharge when I wipe only when I wipe for three days. it never takes me this long to start my period. What is going on?

some woman can have spotting throughout their first trimester... so it doesnt mean ur not pregnany cuz the discharge came after your period i would re test with clear blue! sometimes the pregnancy tests with the lines come out to faint and you dont notice the second line on the test!
