Chances of pregnancy

my girlfriend was supposed to put in her new nuvaring on sunday night but was a day late and didn't put it in till monday.  it says on the directions if this happens you should use backup protection for 7 days.  we didn't wait 7 days and had unprotected sex on friday night (day 9 of cycle) and no withdrawal method was used.  she refused to take plan b because she claimed she couldn't get pregnant.  im freaking out now....what are the chances she got pregnant?  would the nuvaring still be working even though she was 24 hrs late putting in the new one?  please help!!!

my guess is that she will be fine.  Was she on her period at the time or was she just didn't change her ring on the right day?

Also it could take up to a couple of weeks for your body to adjust to the hormones so either way pregnancy may occur

No the Nuva ring has to be in place to work and on CD 9 I would say there is a very good chance she could be pregnant
