Confused, pregnant or abnormal period?

Question

I am having other symptoms of pregnancy but my doctor made me feel embarressed after a negative test, and told me I am just having period symptoms. (nausea, sore-tender-heavy-swollen breasts, frequent peeing, headaches, fatique, spotting..All of these to an extreme) Now I am having a weird 'period' and have questions... 

Do girls normally have periods where they only bleed when they whipe? 
And it's so light that its only a streak on the toilet paper? 
Can implantation bleeding be red with brown tint?
 Is spotting (implantation bleeding) only spots, or can it mix with urine to partially cover the toilet paper? 
Do these things sound like a period or something else?
Should I just rule out being pregnant, forget about it and assume I am just having a period, like my doctor told me to?

I know just need to be patient but maybe someone can answer these questions. (:

I recently had a 2 week period that started out spotting then got heavier.. i toom twp pregnancy test and they came back positive i went to the hospital had blood done was tols it was negative and may have miscarried but i am late for my period. could i have tested too soon? I read that qual serum blood test can be wrong..

That's how my doctor made me feel, like I am crazy and I don't know my own body. It was embarressing and I don't really want to go back... I think that is just wrong ): Good luck and keep me updated... I am going to go take another test at planned parenthood tomorrow.... So sick of negatives though ): Just hoping and praying for a positive..

He knew all my syptoms and he said it sounded like I was pregnant so did the bloods and when that came back no he said he was sorry to say that I had had a miscarrage... He was saying the implantation bleeding was the misscarage but I cant see how that is because I had most of those symptoms after that bit of spotting and I keep getting more and more symptoms... He said blood tests dont lie I have been to scared to go back and say look either Im pregnant or something is seriously wrong... I was going to just see what happens and let nature take its cause but its been 3 months this month... I was upset when he said I had had a miscarrage they sort of make you feel like your crazy and you dont know your own body... When I read the other forums and came across that lady that said she got negs the whole nine months then another one said something about a cryptic pregnancy where your hormones are two high to be read and they start to break down around 7 weeks and you will always get a neg... Its all abit confusing and it makes me feel like im crazy...

Hmmm you should defiantly ask for an ultrasound! Some girls get negative results throughout an entire pregnancy. So sorry to hear you are going through that, its very frustrating and confusing I know ): What does your doctor say? My doctor made me feel kind of embarressed and I am embarressed to go back to her..So I really want to figure it out on my own >_<

I know how you feel I got/get neg on my hpt the doc did a blood test only the one that says yes or no it came back no but Im still getting pregnancy symptoms my breasts still hurt still get the headaches the feeling sick and has gone to the point I have thrown up... more blue veins on my boobs my last regular period was 5th Sept... the veins on my arms and hands are heaps noticable across my chest I have veins going to my nipples I dont understand it all... I had alittle light bleed for a day last month but it was more mucas.. Ive booked into the doc again this month to see what is going on and I might ask for an ultrusound

My periods are ALWAYS regular too. And they are always the same, I cramp the night before I start, the next morning on my first pee I start my period and its always very very heavy at first, it stays heavy for 2 days and on the third day it becomes light and by the 4th day it's gone. This time, it is extremely abnormal. I have had this very light reddish brown and brown bleeding (only when I pee) for 7 days now, and it started atleast 6 days before I always start. Also it started 7 days after I ovulate. And I am still having what my doctor said was PMS symptoms (nasuea, dizziness, urinating frequently, fatique, sore bbs). Do PMS symtoms usually last 7 days into have your period??

When did you ovulate? When are your regular periods? You should test a week or 2 after when you should get your period (I need to take my own advice :P).

hi im 27having similar symptoms got me worried had a ectopic pregnancy in the past my periods are always on time to the date very regular i got my period today is day 4 and its gone i have only had to use 3 tampons cause it kept coming and going and brown in colour the second day it has a lil pink but not alot like usual last night i checked it was almost a white brown colur then gone what could this be as i said im always regular and i dont know if i should test now can anyone help???

Yeah and that's what I'm thinking but I also cant just be like "Yeah I'm one of those girls" Because I just dont know..But it is a possibility. I'm going to see what happens in the next week or 2.. Every minute feels like an eternity! I mainly just want to know so I can either forget about it, or I can start planning. Its like a cloud over my head that I am trying to ignore.

I would like to know more about decidable bleeding as well. Mia are you going through something similar??? it is so frustrating!!! Ive bought 2 first response tests in the near past but it was too early to tell. Now my boyfriend doesnt want to buy another one lol So I got a few from the dollar store but I am super curious if a first response would show a more accurate result...But they are 20$ a pop.

Get a first response and test with first morning urine. After that, make an appointment to be seen by a doctor - what the result is will determine what the appointment is for.

Thank you. I have been having this incredibley light period for 7 days now. I know, I need to stop thinking about it, it's driving me nuts ): I took a urine test today, bought from the dollar store, and it came up negative ): I am frustrated, disappointed and confused at the moment. I guess I'm probably not pregnant huh?

Implantation bleeding in general is just misunderstood. The size of the egg is smaller than the period at the end of these sentences and won't cause any real flow or bleeding. It's just too small. There's also something called decidual bleeding which is where you actually shed some of the uterine lining (they speculate this is due to the low hormones at the start of pregnancy) but this does resemble a proper period.

Some people have light ones, the flow can vary. Heck there's women who have a 2 day period. You need a beta blood test. hCG can be detected almost as soon as implantation occurs through blood test. People have found out with levels of 7 and 8 mIU and by urine can be detected within just a few more days. This is because once implantation occurs your hCG starts to double and rise. Implantation bleeding shouldn't be heavy or usually require feminine products. The issue with knowing if its implantation bleeding is that almost every female claims to have it and associates EVERY episode of bleeding to it. It generally occurs in 30% of pregnancies - it IS just possible to bleed while pregnant and it not be due to anything. Your cervix is much more tender while pregnant and the slightest irritants can cause bleeding. In general though... Looking into symptoms will drive you insane. They mean nothing in the scheme of things. If you need to, get a different doctor who will do the test you need.

Update: Today I peed like over 30 times. It was rediculous, every 15 to 30 minutes I was running to the bathroom. And I didn't drink any more liquids than usual. I had  a few drinks of water in the morning, half a 12 oz mocha, a 20 oz cup of water, 16 oz of tea, and another half a cup of 12 oz mocha. Actually less than normal for me (I usually drink all of that + A LOT more coffee and water but i was feeling very queezy and dizzy all day so I didnt feel like drinking coffee). But yeah, A LOT of running to the bathroom today. The blood seemed to minimize this morning, and it was only brown, so I thought it was ending. But then in the afternoon and on, it went back to how much there was before, and it is reddish brown. Only enough to barely cover have the peice of TP when I pee.  Still wondering if this is a period but I have never heard of a period where you don't need even a panty liner...

Thats what happened to me, It started out really really light, then the next day (the night after I went to the doctor) it got heavier. So I thought to myself "Okay here we go, this is my period and I'm not pregnant". But then it just didn't get any heavier. It actually got lighter throughout the day. Today would be the 5th day from when I started spotting, or the 4th day from when it got heavier. Last night and today it's gotten lighter and it's turned brown and gooey. Maybe because it's ending? Idk we'll see.

That's exactly how my implantation bleeding started with my last pregnancy, but got a little heavier the second & third day. I didn't get a positive test until about 3 weeks after the bleeding stopped and it was a VERY faint positive! I think I read online that it takes about 14 days after implantation for the hormone to show up in your blood & about another week to show up in your urine. I think I just had implantation bleeding again, but I was 3 weeks late before I started spotting, so might have been a late & very light period. Idk. 

If I was you id wait three weeks and take a hpt, if you get a negative, then wait and see if your period comes  if it doesn't wait until your about a week late and test again. If either test comes out positive, go back to the doctor & let him test you & see its positive & when he sees that you are prego, then tell him to kiss your *** for treating you like you were crazy! You don't want to go through your whole pregnancy with a jackass doctor like that! He doesn't deserve you'd insurance money! Lol good luck! Keep us updated!
