False positive?

So my period was due Jan 16th and by Jan 18th it still had not come. So I decided to test, I did a urine hold for 4 hours and took a first response testate and it was a rapid one minute response one...I looked at the result after 1 minute and it was negative so I threw it in the trash and told my fiance. He asked to look so I should it to him and by the time he saw it about 2 maybe 3 minutes had past and there was DEFINITELY anot her line. The positive lined got darker after about another minute then stopped...does this seem like a real positive or could this be a false positive..

Could be an evap line. That's why pregnancy tests have a time frame that you're supposed to check within. An evap line can appear after the time is up and it can appear as a positive, but not actually be a positive.

I don't believe a false positive is likely. Positives come from detecting the hcg hormone that you get when you're pregnant. I'd still confirm with another test and make an OB appt.

Usually if it's within 30 min on a first response it's +. Cheapie tests aren't reliable after 30 min though
