HCG Levels

Hello! Before I start, let me say that I know this probably means I have a chemical pregnancy. I got a trigger shot around 11 am on 6/18. My doctor did a blood HCG test the morning of 7/2 (14 days after the trigger shot - not 14 days after ovulation) and my HCG was 26.4. That seemed low to me but I know the numbers have to start somewhere. I went back the morning of 7/4 for more bloodwork and this time my HCG had dropped to 25.1. It's a small decline but I know not a good sign since that number should double every 48 hours. That was probably 15 dpo. With my first pregnancy, my initial HCG was 84, and I ended up pregnant with Identical twins so the numbers skyrocketed. (I lost one of the babies at 29 weeks.) Has anyone had a similar experience with a decreasing HCG this early on? Like I said, I know it's consistent with a chemical pregnancy, and couple possible mean ectopic, but just wanted to see what other people think. I don't know if a drop of 1.6 is a small decline or if any decline this early on is significant. I'm pretty positive that the same lab was used both times, though the test on 7/4 I guess could have been sent elsewhere since it was a national holiday. I'm going back for more bloodwork on 7/7 but now I'm nervous that I'm going to miss the signs of an ectopic pregnancy. After losing a baby at 29 weeks, finding out I had a chemical pregnancy just doesn't even compare, but I would love to hear any other similar stories, regardless of the ending - happy or sad. Thanks!

I was told 25% or so of women dont double especially with irregular cycles. they did an ultra sound again 2 weeks later and there was babys heartbeat and she was rifht size etc. anyway thats my lil hcg experiance and I know how scary it can be I was freaked out!

first off im so sorry for your previous loss.  HCG hormone can be unpredictable, however, usually it does not decrease it increases. When you go on the 7th it will tell you much more. Are they also doing another ultra sound? I truly wish you the best and try to stay positive!
