How accurate are blood test for pregnancy?

Ok so I went into have surgery and they did a urine test and it came back positive then they did blood work and it came back positive but when I got home I took the home pregnancy test and they it said negative. What should I do?

Well, you have HCG in your system.  It is there for a reason with different possibilities.  You may have had a chemical pregnancy in which you had an early miscarriage and so the hormones are still in your blood stream but not enough to trigger a home test with urine.  You could also make pituitary HCG.  When there is an issue with the pituitary gland, it can result in a low level of hcg in the blood which wouldn't be picked up with a urine test.  Cancer, but don't panic.  That is so rare!!  Those are reasons why you can get a positive HCG test.  What I'd do is immediately make an appointment with your ob to get checked out.  Especially if you are waiting to have surgery as I'm sure they didn't do surgery if they thought you could be pregnant.  A doctor can do an ultrasound and tell you.  good luck
