I missed 3 pills, can I be pregnant?

Hi all,

I’m in a pickle here. I missed the last 3 pills of week 2 - Fri, Sat, Sun - on my birth control pack. (Tri Lo Marzia) BF and I had sex on Saturday and Sunday and he did finish inside of me both times.

I took two pills a day for the next 3 days - Mon, Tues, Wed - and experienced breakthrough bleeding for those 3 days. Bleeding stopped on Wednesday, and I continued taking pills as normal.

My pill period is due today but hasn’t come yet. I took a pregnancy test and it’s negative but I’m not sure if that’s false because it’s only been a week if we did conceive.

(We would be happy if we were pregnant. Not ideal timing but still a happy thing.)

When you miss pills, it does increase the chance of pregnancy occurring- so it's not something you can rule out entirely.  However, the late period could be for a large variety of reasons too.  Wait a few days and test again- let us know how you are doing!
