Sex 2.5 to 3 days before ovulation

Hi all, so I had sex late at night on cycle day 15 (had ewcm that day only) and got my positive OPK morning of cycle day 17 meaning I ovulated about 12 -36 hours later. I had O pains all day Tuesday (cd18). What are the chances of getting pregnant from sex 2.5 - 3 days before ovulation? I know sperm can live up to five days but in perfect conditions (and mine weren't perfect only creamy cm). Will the sperm be strong enough after 3 days of waiting to fertilize the egg?

Well, 9 dpo and just had light brown spotting on the tp along with ewcm when I went to the bathroom. Temp dipped from 97.73 to 97.33 today, implantation? Cross my fingers! Really hope it's not just an early period showing up tomorrow.

7 dpo today and so impatient! Temp went up today and had a glob of EWCM yesterday but those are very inconclusive signs (the tww makes women obsessive, lol).

Yes mam :) my projected peak ovulation date was August 20, but I O'd on the 17th instead.

Sorry, I don't believe in that. I personally think it's wrong and even if I wasn't planning on a child I would never take Plan B or other harmful preventative measures, though I know people do and I am fine with that, it's their choice.

So you mean you ovulated earlier than expected so it wasn't actually 3 days before ovulation? I know that since I got a positive on cd 17 I could have O'd later that day or on cd 18. I usually have an 11 day luteal phase so guess I'll have to wait another 6 days or so and see if AF arrives.

I did the same exact thing and conceived. You don't always ovulate at the same time. I happened to ovulate early and it took :) my method has always been to do the deed three days before and three days after suspected ovulation.

there is always a chance and from what i've heard more of a chance of it being a girl in this situation. there is always a chance and if you are unlucky this month then you have next month to try again.
