When did you get pregnant ?

I am a little bit confused as to how they calculate how far along you are. I had my last period on August 14th. I had sex with my boyfriend on August 28th. I havent got my period yet this month. Can anyone please help me understand this better ?

For consistency purpose I guess. How would you pick which session of sex that led to conception if let's say..you have sex every day? Lol. Everyone would be scratching their head if asked when did you have sex but not when asked when was your first day of your last period. Plus right after you get your period your new cycle will begin which means your body will get prepared for the next ovulation. so in this cycle you will be pregnant so it makes sense to have it counted from the first at of your last period.

Thank you. It was just a little confusing. But why isnt it calculated from the day of having sex?
