clots and brown dicharge for 3 weeks...:(

HELP.... I have not taken a pregnancy test but, I have had this brown discharge and clotting for about 3 weeks.  Hopefully someone out there has had the same problem.  Should I take a pregnancy test?  Is it just my period?  I guess I should add that I have not had a cycle since August but, I am on metformin to help.  My husband and I have been trying to start a family for about 2 and a half years now.  NO LUCK:(.  Any advice would be appreiciated as to what this could be caused from.  thanks for listening!

as i said there are so many things which can affect on ur cycles.. However performing a pregnancy test has no harm... N whether u r pregnant or not i would still recommend u to see ur doctor... As cycles should not go longer thn 10 days as they can indicate fertility n long term problem... N if it turns out u r pregnant thn u need blood work n u/s to determine ny problem with pregnancy... If u hvnt had a cycle since august thn u should be above 14wks... Only u/s can determine how further along u r n whether its start of late miscarriage or ur plancenta is having problem or theres a cyst... In every case u need to be in hospital... Take cares...

Thank you for your answer... I will take onw right away!  I have just had so many test come back neg I didnt want to put myself through the dissappointment!

I havent had a normal bleeding cycle all its been is this brown discharge and clots.  I was thinking it was my cycle tring to start but that was when it first started! Now im alittle worried as to why it wont stop.  Thanks for replying!

I think you should take a test right now, if it comes out your preggo go to the e.r. Right away. This is ok if its just a period but it can be really serious if your pregnant with clots. Please take a test.

I hve taken metformin for two yrs... U should consult ur doctor as it could be ur cycles or linning of uterus getting thicker causing extra bleeding... U need an u/s...cycles should not be longer than 7-10days... If thy are taking long to finish indicates some sort of problem.. I doubt it its pregnancy.. But u really need to get chevked out... Take care
