One more question. I've had some pretty bad cramps today, but my period is nowhere to be seen. I searched online a bit, and read that implantation can happen anywhere up to two weeks after intercourse. Could this be implantation cramping? I'm freaking out a little bit, and unsure of what to do.
No problem, I hope you get the answer you want.
Assuming I ovulated around the time I think I did, it has been more than 14 days but I will wait for a couple more days, if my period doesn't show up I'll test myself again, and if it's negative, I'll talk to my doctor. Thank you for taking your time and advice.
Also, in terms of getting a positive result, you count from ovulation, not from sex. Usually 14 days from ovulation is enough to get a positive result, though for some women it takes longer to get a positive on a urine test and they need to do a blood test instead.
Incidentally, the only way to know when you ovulate is by tracking your body temperature. Period apps tend to assume everyone ovulates on day 14, and that is often not true.
Sex wouldn't delay your period. Most likely you ovulated late/haven't ovulated yet and that's why your period is late.
I'm not certain, but guessing from the usual legth of my cycle (and my period tracker also says I probably ovulated then) and guessing by when I usually ovulate, I'd say I ovulated on that day (or the day prior/after). The test would probably show by now if i had gotten pregnant the first time. Maybe sex has just delayed my period, I've had that happen but only for 2 days or so. Maybe I'm just overreacting, but you never know.
Are you certain you ovulated on the 21st or is it a guess? If it's certain then it is highly unlikely you'd be pregnant (and if you were, it would be from the first time, the egg only survives 24 hours after ovulation). Also the fact that you used condoms makes it unlikely (though not impossible). I'd wait a few more days and test again then speak to your DR. Could be you're just having a long cycle for some reason.
