I wanted a c-section because of all the pain, maybe if i had a c-section my chances would of lessened with the problems iam dealing with now. anyway, i wouldnt of been able to breast feed anyway, i was ready on having retained placenta peices, its screws up your milk supply or something, it stops milk from coming in, I lost most of the weight i gained after havin my baby girl.. Iam still bleeding... gonna wait it out until tuesday until i see the doctor again, because this is just dumb. and until this bleeding stops they cant give me a psyical. which i guess kind of sucks, because i cant go on birth control then? lol

Yep, that is one of the joys of breastfeeding.. cramping and bleeding.  But I wouldn't change it for ANYTHING.  And, I have already dropped 15 pounds since coming home from the hospital.  Of course I was pumped FULL of fluids before, during, and after having her.  I had 3 bags of fluid to build up my blood supply before surgery.  Then I had 2 bags of potosum (sp?) to start contracts to help me bleed out since I did not have vaginal birth, then I had 3 bags of antibiotics.. then the fluids started again.  I know they pumped 5 or 6 pounds of fluids into me before I left the hospital.  =)  That was VERY uncomfortable.

Why did you want a c-section?

Yeah, its my own horror movie. haha.  When you breast feed, doesnt your uterus contract, is that why you cramp and bleed?  yeah they are suppose to study the placenta after it is delivered. so i dont no what they were doin with me. but o well. i will get over it.  its now brownish redish bleeding, so maybe its commin to an end, which my hopes are high for that, and thats all iam hoping for.

i hope your recovery from yoru c-section goes good. i wanted a c-section with baby girl faith, but they would not give me one, no matter how much i bagged for one.

What a baffling situation you are in!!  I had my baby by c-section last Tuesday, so that makes my little bundle of joy ONE WEEK OLD TODAY.  =)

I do not have bleeding unless I am breastfeeding, then I usually cramp, and bleed.

I have always heard that they are supposed to study the placena after it is delivered.  CONGRATS on delivering naturally.

I wish you lots of luck, and hope your bleeding stops soon!

so i went back to the doctors today, they dont no why i still have the bleeding, they said witha d&c you can bleed up to 21 days, but they arnt sure if i got my period or if iam still bleeding before something else is inside, so if next tuesday it hasnt stop, i go back to the doctors and they scedule me for an ultrasound again.

i asked about the hcg levels. and they said they couldnt do it that way, because they dont no what they are lookin for and im already 6 weeks post partum. they said it would be easy with an ultrasound.

The doctor told me, your heavy bleeding should be the first week after giving birth. then it is suppose to taper down slowly. but heavy bleeding the 3 week postpartum is not normal. and thats how they new something was wrong with the piece of placenta left inside after i had her. so i dunno. i will have lots of questions for the doctor when i see her,:)

I believe woman usually bleed for up to a month after birth anyway. Thats what maternity pads are? Perhaps its just that still, but i can see why you might worry.

I have an anterior and posterior placenta.  I am going in for my c-section tomorrow, so it's very important that they remove the entire placenta as there are two separate pieces to the placenta.  Infection is common after having one such as mine, because the doctor is unaware that he maybe leaving a part inside.  I'm glad they detected mine during an u/s.

Are you experiencing any pains along with the bleeding, outside of the normal cramping?  Like burning or any other sensations?  I would def check with my doctor for a follow up after such an operation as a D&C.

Good luck with this, and def keep us updated.

Gosh, I really don't know if this is normal or not.  Was your baby delivered naturally?  I wonder how a piece of placenta was left inside of you?

I would say that the spotting is normal, but I would check with your doctor to see if passing tissue is normal.  Maybe keep a sample for him?
