Bleeding, low hcg, small for gestational age

I realize that all my symptoms are not looking bright, but I am just wondering if there is any cause for hope.  If anyone else has been in my situation.  My LMP was July 8th and I am almost positive I conceived around July 21st, which makes sense with a positive pregnancy test on August 4th (at right around 4 weeks going by LMP).  At 5 weeks I had bleeding slightly heavier than my normal period.  At 6 weeks they started monitoring my hcg levels, which were low and rising slowly.  At 7 weeks one hcg test dropped, but then jumped back up yesterday.  They did an immediate u/s because they were worried about an ectopic pregnancy.  No ectopic pregnancy, but the gestational age was measure at 5 weeks.  I know that I could not be that off on my time line, with 3 positive pregnancy tests at what I assume was 4 weeks, I don't see how I could be off at all, much less 2-3 weeks off.  I have another u/s schedule for next week and my doctor obviously doesn't think there is a lot of hope and I really don't either, just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and everything turned out okay.

Hey! Are you sure you passed the sac? How are you in terms of symptoms now?
My scan showed an ectopic on my right F. tube which I had to have removed even though I had no symptoms of an ectopic. I was at high risk:-(
I went into surgery last nite at 11. They hadto remove my right tube but say the right is fine and u should be fertile. We can try tc as soon as I finish bleeding.
As you say it is such a relief to know and not to be in limbo! I hope ur scan clears it all up. Keep in touch with & tc x

Hope your appointment went okay today.  Just thought I'd let you know that I passed some tissue today, most certainly the gestational sac and the yolk sac.  Rather bizzare, but I'm actually relieved.  I will confirm it with the ultrasound next week, but I doubt it could be anything other than that.  I am relieved though that it happened naturally and I did not need a D&C or medication to make it happen, and relieved that the waiting is over.  Now soon we can get on to trying again.

Hey,
I started spotting brown on Monday afternoon.. eek.. so similar! I am hoping I am not at the beginnings of a miscarriage. My uterus/pelvic region feels rather sore and 'tight' and I am moody as hell! I read somewhere that during a miscarriage the discharge can start off rather brown like prune juice-BUT I have read so many forums and web pages I can not quote that with much confidence... and typically i can not find the place I read it again.

I have lost hope for tomorrow as I have hardly anymore symptoms. My thirst- which was raging the past month or more has gone, no more sore boobs and my tiredness is subsiding. All in all I appear to be losing all symptoms apart from the moods and have recently got spots????? I never got spots as a teen? bizzare.

Fingers crossed for you. I will try and post more news tomorrow.

Keep your chin up! xx

Oh wow!  We are definitely having very similar situations.  My hcg levels were around 1100 on 8/20 then 1300 on 8/24 then around 1350 on 8/26 then they went down to 1280 on 8/27, but back up to 1600 on 8/31, that's when they did the u/s to confirm no ectopic pregnancy.  I have just started some light brown spotting again as of yesterday.  I won't have another u/s until next Thursday 9/10.  I figured I'll give it more time and that if it is still growing it should definitely show over a week and a half.  Ugh.  Waiting, waiting...  You have your next u/s tomorrow right?  Hope it goes well!  My first pregnancy could not have been easier, this is just so hard!
