Maybe you should ask for one weekend day off instead of one of the weekdays so you have a whole day to you and your husband. Thats what I did now that school is started again. I usually work over nights & I asked for no more Saturday shifts at both my jobs. And then on Saturday I don't do anything school or work related..or even any cleaning. My boyfriend & I always try to plan something to do that day..even little like a round of mini golf and then relax the rest of the day. That one small day does surprising wonders!!
BradyAm, I've been watching your profile and paying attention to your updates.. I feel so much for you. I'm also in an intense job with crazy hours (chef in a busy restaurant with 15 kitchen staff to manage).. and understand the really difficult decision about hours=money right now but feeling like 10 & 12 hour shifts of go, go, go are getting to me. I'm just hoping that the second trimester will give me back my energy to push through.
The only way thing that I've found to help is taking a bit of time in the morning (about 20 minutes between when DH leaves and when I have to leave) to just sit with a cup of tea and relax, thinking about the little one growing and just kind of spending time with him/her.. focusing myself and my energy for the day really.
So, I don't have any answers for you.. just wanted to let you know that I'm here to listen and can be a bit of support for ya on this crazy path.
*hugs*
