talk to your ob and tell them you're 12 weeks and you want a sonogram to make sure everything is all right with the baby. usually the first sonogram is around 8-12 weeks and then again at about 16 weeks and so on. so you should definitely call and tell them that you're concerned about this.

I'm sure they will give you an u/s, or at least listen to the heartbeat via doppler at your appointment. Where I am, they only do one ultrasound, unless more is medically necessary, and that is around 18 weeks, but every appointment they listen to the heartbeat.

I wouldn't worry at all!

Here in canada we don't get the routine sonogram until 19-20 weeks..

I'm sure you're doing just fine!  :D

I'm gonna ask him, because I'm getting a little nervous. I haven't had anyone listen to the heartbeat yet.

I would think they'd do a sonogram by then.  That would put you near 16 weeks.  I'd ask your OB if they think its too long, but I know of a lot of women who don't have their first appointment until then.

Most doctors do the first sonogram around 12 weeks.  Have you scheduled an appointment with your OB yet?
