1st. Doc Appt?

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 18 years old and VERY ecxited. My husband and I were wondering what happens during the first doc appt after a confirmed pregnancy? I opted for a female doctor for my pregnancy and baby birth. I have not had any testing besides a urine test to confirm pregnancy. I'd just like some details on the visit and what I should ask or bring with me.

I'll be sure to write my questions and concerns before going. Thank you girls for taking the time to answer my question!

Typically an U/S, blood draw and collecting a history (any family medical history for you or your husband.)

I did IVF and so I am sure my experience of my "first" appointment is very different than yours will be -- since mine was at the fertility clinic. But at my first regular OB/GYN appt she did an ultrasound (I could see the little bean moving around and everything -- awesome). She also mentioned that usually they do a blood draw to run a bunch of tests -- but since I had blood work done at my clinic, we didn't do that.

She also asked me about my history and any family history, asked me if I had any questions, etc.

You should also write down any questions you have before you go. I sort of forgot some of mine while there because you get so caught up in seeing the baby that I think it's hard to be logical after that! ;-)

Good luck and congrats to you!
