lovvveeeeee bio oil. even when I wasn't pregnant id use it. lol.
Yes it says it is designed for pregnancy, but as consumers we should read labels and ingredients. Bio oil contains very unsafe ingredients and is rated a 7 (high hazard) by the Environmental Working Group Skin deep database. Please read this before considering it. I wrote a review and hope it helps http://shakara-naturaltips.blogspot.com/2012/01/bio-oil-skin-and-beauty.html
thanks for the info I'll pass it on next time someone asks! which they do...a lot! lol :-)
I used all kinds of creams and lotions with my son 4 years ago and nothing helped! But I started using this bio oil as soon as I found out I was pregnant this time and it is working already! The stretch marks on my boobs have gotten so much lighter I can barely see them anymore...the marks on my belly are fading too...of course they were a lot worse than the ones on my boobs but my DF and I can already see a change...this stuff is amazing
I didn't figure it had soy in it but that's one of those PSAs that we like to give in the preg forum (I'm one of the Co-Community Leaders in the Preg 18-34 forum) because most women don't know about the interaction between Soy and how it's absorbed and processed through the skin :-).
Always good to keep the skin hydrated -especially if you're prone to getting an itchy belly as you get bigger! Let me know how it works when your belly is popped ok? I'm curious! If it works I'd like to be able to recommend it in the pregnancy forum.
I'm one of the lucky ones that I've had 2 babies already and NO stretchmarks...it's all genetics for me because I don't have the patience for creams or oils, lol. But I know women who have fought valiantly and lost the stretchmark war..so if you've found something that works, I'd be grateful to pass on the knowledge :-)
Bio oil is designed for pregnancy! It is completely safe..if says to apply twice a day from the day you find out your pregnant until after childbirth...
just make sure it doesn't have soy in it! soy is processed through the skin as estrogen and is a big no-no during pregnancy. you can DRINK soy during pregnancy, but not use products that have it on your skin...odd, right?
to be perfectly honest, hydrating your skin will reduce the appearance of stretch marks, but they won't get rid of them all together...but who cares if they look less obvious? :-)
Cvs also had its own brand of bio oil that was like $8.79 but I didn't want to take the chance of it not working so I bought bio oil and just spent a few more dollars! Let me know if it works for you...I love it...it says on the box it might take up to 3 months to see results but I have seen results in just 3 weeks!
Even better.. CVS is way closer to me than Toys r us..It's also cheaper at CVS.. Toys r us is selling a 2 oz bottle for $12.99
I bought mine at cvs..it is with the scar creams...I bought a 3oz. Bottle and it was $12.99 for it..so I didn't think that was too bad for something that is going to get rid of these marks..my fiance has already noticed a difference..
I just googled it and its sold at toys r us...I will make a trip this weekend:)
me too!! Is it expensive? Where is it sold?
I know I am going to have to start using something soon!!!
