Back pain

Hi 17 weeks pregnant and have severe severe backpain from an old disc injury. Recent MRI shows a disc is bulging and pressing on nerves. Have tried everything and am at my wits end, any advice? Any pain killers I can take?

Ask your doctor if he will let you take prenatal yoga.  I've never gotten x rays but I've had sciatica for several years (it comes & goes) and when I got pregnant it came with a vengeance.  Prenatal yoga + walking have been the only things that help me.  I'm 17+4 and I joined my class 3 weeks ago... It has done WONDERS.  I was going to try acupuncture & a chiropractor if yoga didn't work bc they're covered under my insurance and I want a drug free pregnancy.  Those might be options for you before you start taking medications that could be potentially harmful to baby.

hi I broke my back in 2 places almost 3 years ago, I am fine now but occasionally get chronic back ache, since im pregnant the pain is more frequent.  I do pregnancy pilates and that is by far the best thing I have found for it!! its brilliant! also try sitting with a hot water bottle at your back or a warm bath! I find these really help! I hope it helps!  :-)
