I am in TN and the same as LadyBeeley I had an Ultrasound at 8 weeks and will have another at 20 wks.  My advice to NewMommy is find another OB or midwife.  I am going that route (mid-wife & all natural) and she is great, you need to feel comfortable & confident and in my opinion "like" the Dr. or Midwife that is delivering your miracle!  Best of luck to you!!! God Bless!

Your due date can vary by a week, depending on whom youre speaking with. My nurse has me due the 12, doc the 11, a nurse at lifechoices has me at the 14, and a second has me due the 5th. It varies bc you cant say "my baby will be done baking this day". Here in arkansas and also back in missouri the docs do 2 ultrasounds, unless you are deemed high risk. The first ultrasound os to ensure the pregnancy is viable. The second is the growth/development ultrasound done around 20wks, and we just so happen to be able to discover the gender at this time.

Yeah, I was only going to have one at 20 weeks.  My midwife & I were discussing how far along I am bc my cycles are 23 days vs 28 which puts me possibly farther along.  I had my first today (13 weeks) to datethe baby. Apparently most women only have one at 20 weeks though.
