Breast feeding

With my previous pregnancies I bottle fed all my babies. I still want to do the same with this one but since my mommy passed away from breast cancer February 22, 2014 I was thinking about reconsidering because I read up on breast feeding and it said if i breast feed it can reduce my chance of getting breast cancer. I still am freaked out about breastfeeding though. I've heard so many things about it that's why I decided to bottle feed in the past. April is approaching quick and I need to make my mind up fast! If you ladies can help me out on your experience with breastfeeding? I'll appreciate it.

It's still considered  breastfeeding feeding if the milk is expelled and given in bottle. Bottle feeding is referred  to formula feeding

I breastfeeding fed both my kids and this one will be no differnt. I bf  my daughter till she was 3 and my son till he was 2. It's just an easy way to feed them no buying expensive formula. You could always buy a hand pump if it feels  awkward but that is a bit  more time  consuming but try it and if it fails then use a pump and use a bottle.

I gave it a try with my first bit he wouldn't latch on to the nipple so i just gave up and never tried it with any of my babies. I'm definitely gonna try again though. Thanks

Breast feeding has soooo many benefits for you and baby it is defently worth a try. Just give it a go if you don't like it you can try pumping ( ou both still get most of the benefits )  and if that doesn't suit you you can formula feed

So sorry to hear about your mom. My dad died 5 weeks after my second son was born. It was tough!
But anyway, I breastfeed because it's cheap, convenient for me as a part-time stay-at-home mom, it's easier to lose the weight, and it's so good for the baby and for me. Try reading "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" before baby arrives. It will answer all your questions. Good luck! It's very worth it!

I know that breastfeeding may not be everyone's first choice but for me it was an easy decision.  I know it may not be easy/convenient the whole time, but for me it is totally worth it. The pros outweigh the cons in my opinion.  Not to mention i read all the pamphlets from my ob's office and breast milk has so much more nutritional value.  I'd like to think i am doing the best i can to ensure my baby gets the healthiest and natural start. Whichever you choose i wish you luck and I'm sorry to hear about your mom.

Well I'm a ftm and due April 10th.. i am very dedicated to breastfeeding.  I've done tons of research although I don't have the actual hands on experience.  Here are the reasons I am going to breastfeed.  Breastfeeding is linked to lower the risk of type 2 diabetes,  breast cancer,  ovarian cancer,  and postpartum depression in nursing women. Breast milk is the most easy and natural thing for babies digestive system, because it has our immunities in it babies are sick less often. Breastfeeding is also linked to lower risk of gastrointestinal problems, upper respiratory infections, asthma, diabetes,  and leukemia in babies and young children. Then there is the added benefit of it being cheaper, less supplies (dirty bottles), and you get more bonding skin to skin contact with your little one.
