I've been cramping for a few weeks, which are gradually getting worse

I am realizing that my cramps are obviously contractions. The problem is that because they come on so gradually, I don’t know how to time them, because I don’t realise when they start and finish. Any suggestions?

I was having the same confusion. I kept trying to time these not so intense contractions but I couldn't tell when it officially started or ended so I stopped. Everyone kept telling me if it's the real thing I will know. Now I'm just waiting for pain. Due next week and not dilated at all yet

Saw my doctor yesterday and she told me I was 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, so they are doing something, if not very slowly.

Same here - my conclusion is that that is true of BH but not real labor contractions. I just think to myself I hope it is progress but no reason to hold my breath yet.
