I have 2 dogs and they have been with us for 2 years and the other almost 1 year.. They are still a lot of work especially when you first get them. I would say wait as well.

We decided for a little older dog. That way he had grown out of the puppy phase and was already house trained. :)

I have recently gave up my puppy, he was 8weeks when we first had him and we had to give him up at 10months (a few weeks back) some dogs are different but he was very hard work, he would use the garden to toilet in but he was still pooing and weeing in the house even after having after 10months and trying to teach him to go outside, its very hard, he would constantly bark, so imagine when the baby is first born and baby is napping and then the puppy barks and wakes baby constantly, sorry if I am putting u off but I am just trying to give u a heads up xx

I would wait till after you have the baby cuz you never know how the puppy is going to react if you get it first. Im struggling right now with one of my dogs im not sure if shes going to be okay around the baby when my beautiful baby girl comes into the world. Shes not good with little kids. So im working on trying to figure out what to do with her.

it totally up to you but I would rather have one toilet trained (puppy to go outside) then inside where baby will be. dealing with poo from any animal I don't think is good for you (being pregnant) but I think it's up to u and if your a sthing minded and can train dogs quickly go for it. I have 2 dogs one was 2 when I had my first and the other is still a puppy and I'm 17weeks my dogs haven't been anything else but great with my first child.

Are you a ftm? If so I strongly recommend waiting just because puppies require a lot of time and attention and need to be let out a lot to pee at night and newborns need even more attention and if ypur waking to feed the baby and to let the puppy out ypu are going to be even more exhausted. At least wait until you have a routine and things start to settle. Or maybe get one when your baby is older and they can grow up being best buds :)
