She's here!

My beautiful baby girl arrived at 5:19 P.M. on Tuesday April 14th! She is absolutely beautiful.

My birth story:

At 3 A.M. I woke up to use the restroom and was beyond dizzy. Walking to the toilet I had to brace myself of the wall so I wouldn't fall over. Called the advice nurse and was quickly informed I needed to go to the hospital and get checked out. When we got there at around 4:30 (had to wait for the sitter to arrive) they checked my blood pressure and it was extremely high. They also checked my cervix and it was still a one. I hadn't changed any in the last three weeks. Around 8 my doctor came and told me with my pressure the way it was they were just going to keep me and induce. Shortly after that I had oxytocin started. At 1 my doctor came back and broke my water. I was only at a 2/3 dialated. The contractions became intense. At 3 p.m. I was still only a 3. At 4 I was a 4. So my nurse decided to sit me up and let gravity do its thing. At 5 p.m. the doctor called and so 5he nurse checked me. It was a good thing she did because I was completely ready to push. My daughter had moved out of her Sunnyside up position and was ready to come out. My doctor came rushing in. I started pushing at 5:16. One contraction, five pushes, and three minutes later my daughter was here.

My pregnancy was miserable. I cried this morning when I was told I hadn't progressed. I literally broke down into tears. Between constant hip pain, heartburn, nausea, contractions that did nothing, and serious lack of sleep I was ready for this day. I cannot begin to describe how much all of that didn't matter anymore as soon as I saw her sweet little face. My family is complete. I am so in love.

Sorry it's so long! Good luck to all you mommies who haven't delivered yet, and to all of us who finally have, we did it!

Yes, I did get an epidural. This wasn't my first baby otherwise I wouldn't have been wanting to be induced. My first child I went overdue and got induced three days after my due date. I ended up having a c-section because my daughter wasn't ready to come out. She never engaged the cervix.

Congratulations momma, your labor progressed really well. Some ladies go and don't progress and end up getting c section, but glad your worked really in right direction.
My fear of getting induced is only end up with c section. I am due in 4 days and will see which direction I go.

Congratulations new mommy! You did it! I'm so glad you shared your story, I'm 11 days away and getting a little nervous so it always calms me to read stories like yours.  Quick question, did you get an epidural? I'm really contemplating it.
