I had my baby girl at 40+4 days. After trying everything to kick start labor, I was induced Tuesday evening at 9pm. After an excruciating 35 hours of labor, with the last complete hour of hard pushing, my doctor ended up just doing a c-section because of the predicted size of my baby. They believed she would be over 10 pounds and eveytime I would push, she would come out enough for them to see hair and they go right back up inside me. When they wheeled me down to the operating room for a c-section every emotion was going through my mind. I just wanted her to be healthy and come out already. Well my epidermal had shifted during the 35 hours of labor, so when they pushed it in the operating room, it only numbed my legs. They reset it and pushed more. That only numbed my arms and legs. They decided to do a spinal tap, which only number my bottom portion of my belly. I had 2 anesthesiologist in the room deciding what amount I could have. They ended up putting me under general anesthesia in the end. Quite an ordeal. It took my body 4 hours to wake up from all of the numbing/anesthesia in my system. As horrible of an ordeal that it was, I am so happy to finally have my little girl in my arms. She came out at 9 pounds even, 20 and 3/4 inches long and is absolutely perfect.
