I went to have my water broken Monday at 7am. I was given an IV for penicillin because I was positive for GBS. I had to wait four hours for that to kick in. At about 12pm I was given pitocin to make my contractions more regular. The contractions weren't bad. At about 2pm my water was broken. Contractions started coming like every 3 minutes but still weren't that bad. At maybe 3'30pm, I was in some pain and was using breathing techniques to get through them but the contractions were getting longer and faster. I opted out for an epidural. The pain became so bad that I couldn't even get in position for the epidural. I had to get it twice. Once I finally got it right, my pressure drooped and so did baby's heart rate. I was rushes into survey and at 4:32pm my beautiful baby girl was born. Sunshine Iris Washington-Russell made her debut at 8.1 lbs and 20 1/2 in long. Turns out her cord was wrapped around her neck. I hate csections but was so elated that she was healthy. I came home Wednesday after 48hrs from delivery. I'm in a lot of pain and am kind of depressed about not being able to vbac. However, I'm so happy my angel is here to watch over me! Good luck and Goodbye mamas. I hope you all will soon feel the joy I am feeling. Thank you all for your loving support.
