I've been through this before as stated ive had cold sores since a small child from my Nan kissing me and passing it on, I'm sorry but I don't need those kind of comments when I've already stated this is what happened before an i did take precautions. I just want to rid them before this baby arrives which they have now. Thanks for the concern but abit uncalled for...
I don't mean to spread any fear mongering but it isn't just the baby getting a 'cold sore' that is the concern but that the herpes virus in infants can cause encephalitis, please be careful take extra caution and if you carry this virus do some research to be prepared
Please be extremely careful! Newborns and infants can actually die from cold sores if they get infected! Look it up, it doesn't happen very often since we now know to take precautions, washing hands, wearing a mask, etc.
Thanks! They seem to be going down one is almost gone the other is no longer Throbbing. 11 days to go so I want to keep him in there now until they're completely gone! I did want him here asap but he can wait now lol I don't want to go through the same thing again.
Yes it's a form of herpies but the good kind Lmfao. They are contagious but I've been getting them since I was a kid what causes then for me are fruits that extremely acidic... Oranges.. lemons.. limes.. and I love my sour stuff lol also stress causes them as well.. they are not passed threw sexual relations but could be if you were to give oral..
Valtrex definitely! You can even take it daily for preventative measures.
I've found that if you sterilize a pin in rubbing alcohol and puncture the blister, then take a cotton ball drenched in rubbing alcohol and press it firmly against the sore. it works better to dry it up over any cold sore medication I've ever tried. It usually goes away after 3 days. I would do it everytime I went into the bathroom.
I just had 3 at my last appointment (34 weeks) and my doctor prescribed a pill for me to take once a day until after I give birth to prevent anymore breakouts. I got really nervous becauseit is a form of herpes, but I've never had the std, so I thought she was doing it so that I wouldn't have a vaginal breakout. Now I guess I understand what you're saying in relation to what she said. I would never want to give my baby mouth sores her first day of life! She gave me Valtrex and the sores have cleared up and so far no more have shown up. (I'm almost 36 weeks now.)
Oh really? I thought it was just me :/ how annoying they should pre warn you that it could happen Id have said no if I knew it was a 'side affect'.
Carmax does not work unless you feel one coming on before it breaks the skin... Sometimes it's hard to tell. I'm not sure what it is about the morphine but my body didn't like it one bit. Lol I was so embarrassed and upset because I couldn't have my face near my son :-(.
Carmex maybe? I'm not entirely sure :(
Yeah I have written a birth plan this time and in capitals I wrote no morphine lol not only is it hideous and highly contagious but they bloody hurt haha not a fun time.
I actually had a bad reaction to the morphine as well... I had a huge! Cold sore on my top lip and I just asked for this pregnancy for them not to use morphine, to give me a substitute or something else.
Sorry about the typos and mixed words, letters etc.. hopefully you can still make sense of it lol
