Lots of swelling

I went to the dr Thursday and had gained 7 lbs since last week, most of that being fluid. My fingers and wrists have been fairly swollen the last two weeks or so.  I woke up this morning and my fingers are so swollen they hurt. Like I don't want to bend them because my knuckles are killing me with how tight they are due to all of the fluid there. Is there anything I can do to lessen the amount of fluid? I drink water like a fish so I hadn't thought of this happening to this degree.  Thanks!

Thank you guys! That bath sounds amazing right now. I think I'll give it a try later tonight!

Soaking in the ocean (if it's close) or a bath with Epsom salt should help, too. Good luck. Hang in there!

Barley water has diuretic properties that triggers the urination rate. Thereby eliminating accumulation of excess fluid in the body and prevents swelling in legs.

I tried it, it totally worked. Take a spoon of grain and boil it with 4 cups of water, then drain the water. About 2 cups a day should do the trick. I was advised to take it once in three days. But you can check with your doctor too.

Decrease your sodium intake. I'm on the same boat, hands, feet, nose, and lips are swollen and I've found that eating less salty actually helps. I also try and walk around as much as I can for circulation. Best of luck ladies!

I have the same problem with my hands. It is so painful!! My Dr suggested wearing hand splints at night. I have not tried it yet tho.
