don't be nervous, everything will be ok, with my first son I was induce, they put meds through my iv and then they broke my water hours later, once they broke my water I felt contractions and then they gave me the epidural, about 6 hours later I had my son, he was so worth it. I love that I was induce because I was at the hospital and any question I had the nurse answer me, so I am hoping that this pregnancy I am induce but if I am not then it ok,I already 40 weeks but will not induce till 42 weeks

I had the pitocin iv with my first. Took about 5 hours for me to feel any strong contractions. I didnt feel any of the mild ones, but everyone is different. At that point when contractions got intense I got the epidural after an hour of hard contractions after my water broke. It went pretty easy and relaxing after that. Its just a lot of waiting until the pitosin kicks in.

This is my first and I am being induced tonight. I am 40+4. My doctor is inserting pills into my vagina to kick start contractions, if that doesn't work, she is doing pitocin IV. Last stitch effort will be a c section, but I hope it doesn't come to that. That is what I was told at my appointment yesterday. She is very anti-inducing and I think she was trying to scare me with the c section option. I hope everything else works and I can deliver vaginally.
