why is it so hard to get my tube tied

Ugh.... I was told that  unless I need a csection I have to wait 6-8 weeks to get my tube tied. I'm trying to ask kaiser if i can have an elective csection so they can tied my tube right after. I don't want to have my husband take days off work 1 month after. We can't really even ask the grans to help because there already helping out with other babies ( my mom watches 3 kids 4 and under and mom in law watches a 3 month old and is the only one with a car for my brother in law and his baby and 7 y old) so ands it is if I had a csection I'd be 3 days in hospital and have my tubes tied and done. If not I have 2 days for normal birth  the 1 month later 2 addition days in hospital. For my husband that means only getting paid for 8 hrs instead of 10. ( he makes about 29.50 an hr) okay rant over.

You are welcome, if you are in CA I don't see why it would be different we are the same state.  If your Dr says no I would as another Dr in KP.  If I don't get my Done(so scared of needles in my back) and hubby slow to get done if he will I guess I will do an iud for now sigh. But we are Done this was a surprise baby and 5 is enough. I really hope they listen to you and fallow through with your request.

They make a small insicion under the belly button and another in the belly button. With the spinal block it not as major surgury and doesn't affect breastmilk etc.  I would start reading kasier medical site. It was under birth control and the effectiveness.  My Dr said go to her web page and look it up and ask more Dr in kasier practice.

I am with kasier and they have a postpartum surgury here.  As my Dr recommend it to me.  They do it they day after a vaginal birth.  Go on their web site and look it up.   I am concidering but am scared as I am scared of epidurals and spinal blocks and they use a spinal block, instead of putting you under.  I am in the north California area. But not sure why they told you they won't do it as they do do it.

Essure is a no... I had a problem with my Mirena that I had to have surgery  to remove it because it migrated near my kidney. So anything similar is already a no. And I understand  the wait time for healing but in some states in can be done 24 hrs after birth. Unfortunately  they don't do it in Ca. So an elective c section is my last resort and husband getting a vasectomy  I'd rather him not since of hormone issues and also he has and hard high labor job and to be honest with his luck might end up with an did hernia. So I looked and not all the angles and options and this is the best for us.

You should also ask your doctor about essure it's 99.9 percent effective and the recovery time is just a day and should be covered at 100 percent by hour insurance

They make you wait because getting your tubes tide is major surgery and if you just gave birth they don't want to put your body through more trauma. They want you to heal before you go in for major surgery. Have you tried asking your husband to get a vesectomy? It's way easier on a man to have one then for a women to go through getting her tubes tide. Plus most men can go directly back to work after the procedure. Just something to think about.
