Haha no worries :) there is a 4 week and 2 day difference between july 15th and august 14th so i would think there would have been quite a large difference in the babys size and i did tell the woman i wasnt positive weather or not it was a real period and she said well based on what and im lookin at it was your baby is only the size of a jellybean ( wish i could post a photo haha ) after the 15th i dont think me and my bf slept together again until the 25th of july then not until the 5th of august after the bleed and ofc a few times more from then until i missed my period august 31st haha ive been watching ultrasound videos of babys like 10/11 weeks and they really do look alot more advanced than the little blob that mine was at first scan haha so i suppose she was right in dating me at 8 weeks as it just looked nothing like those further on scans, she also knows alot more than me and she looks at scans everyday lol just me being preganant and fussy as its all new to me haha thanks for your advice appreciate it :)

Hmm... I mean it could be. I'm not really looking at the dates you provided though, too tired to do the math lol.

Some women still have a very light period or mistake the implantation bleeding for a period as well. That could have been the case if you believe it to be earlier. I know of a women that had a period throughout her entire pregnancy... Another who was clearly pregnant with a healthy baby but no blood/urine test would confirm it... Anything can be possible I suppose.

Yes, the first scans are usually more accurate. I'm not sure if they base it off the LMP for the dating scan, but if they didn't and its purely the measurement of the fetus, I would trust it more for sure.

I know that I told the second office my LMP was 2 weeks earlier than it really was and they tried to offset the measurement with that guess of being ahead. The next scan was for a class and that set it straight and fell in line with the first scan I had which is accurate to when my baby was conceived.

Were you continually having sex daily or sporadic? I had it daily but charted the days when he would ejaculate inside, that weekend I happened to ovulate since I was charting it, not really but its pretty in sync with my calendar lol

Thank you for your reply :) my first scan puts conception at 14th august (and ive heard the first scan is most accurate) and i just wanted to know if it would have been obvious had the baby been concieved on around july 15th? Despite the measurement being based off lmp

Also, the further along, the more inaccurate the dating becomes because babies can grow at different rates and some are small, some are just really big.

I know that if the tech had the LMP, they base measurements off of that. I didn't look at my calendar for LMP and told the office and tech the wrong date, so I measured 4/5 days ahead. I changed drs.

When I went in for my friends practice scans, the instructor didn't ask and got my baby's measurements on the dot. I know the day she was conceived and exactly how far along I am... And he thought I was a tech too with my knowledge lol. It's amazing to know they will make up a guess to match what you tell them so I'm glad I helped my friend with her class to find that tidbit out and that's why he didn't ask. It's more accurate when they don't know, or at least with very experienced techs.

Also, it depends on when you really ovulated, the tech themselves, their experience (most were dumber than a rock in those classes) and my friend and I have medical backgrounds and shaking our heads at misspellings and hearing some of the bs coming out of some instructors and ridiculous questions the students had, and well baby can grow faster sometimes. There's a multitude of things to factor in. Genetics can change that too, some parts of baby grow faster or slower than others as well which accounts for different dating on limbs too.
