i have everything except a baby gym
I went last wk to a resale shop and found a bouncer and matching swing. It is the rainforest theme with a big beautiful red parrot and I just had to have it. I have also being going all over the place looking for the matching playpin, but of course it is so last year and no one has it. But I love the stuff anyway I have in my living room to look at it all day we even turn it on every now and then.
I still havent bought anything besides a few dresses!! I am so behind! We just bought a house and have invested just about everything into that. I dont really need much, but the things I do need are large items:( Double stroller and crib are just a few. Good thing I still have lots of time!
Im building my stash slowly but surely..... I bought the crib before we PCS'ed and Ive decided to do one large ticket item a pay period until we are done...and Im filling in with the little stuff in between.. I bought the nursery set first, because everything I reg. for matches it, so I would hate to get a bunch of stuff and then the bedding be discontinued (...just my luck) then I got the co-sleeper/ play yard. Next check im getting the carseat and then the stroller I think. Ill tell ya, baby stuff has changed a LOT since my last one 18yrs ago
i saw som nice n cribc on ebay with fre shiping and no taxes for about 20- 0 les then tore
I posted a picture on my profile of some of the things I've bought. We have a ton more, (clothes) put away in a dresser. I just snapped a picture of the things we're keeping in our dining room. I can't wait to get the babies room ready, so I can move the baby's stuff out of the dining room.
I feel unprepared also because we have not really bought anything either. We are also waiting for our shower. I feel like I need to get things moving but I have to wait. We have bought some clothes but really the only big things we have are the crib and bedding.
I am pretty much waiting until after our baby shower and ordering everything else off of our registry then. My parents bought us a crib and mattress which are still in their boxes and a "by your side" infant chair that I wanted, but that's it for the big stuff. We received a Yankees newborn onsie and a hooded towel as gifts. I did accidentally buy baby nail clippers at Target...we were buying a few things for us along with using the gun for the registery and I must have put them in the basket instead of "gunning" them...we had a laugh about that when we got home. I do have a couple board books...uhhh...I feel really unprepared now in comparison!!
Wow thats news to me!! Babies R Us has lay- a- way!! Im going shopping soon , lol!!!
Yes, walmart does have nice stuff, but no lay-a-way, and since I want to buy the changing table to match I just want to make sure that I still find the crib that's why I like the idea of the lay-a-way. Funny thing is I still have my dd crib b/c it is also a 4 in 1 except for she bit the **** out of the wood and I don't like the way it looks for a new baby. Anyway my dh want's to buy a new one so I am going to let him.
One thing I found out,,,, Walmart . com (online) has tons of cribs and dressers, with free shipping to your local store! It's fairly nice stuff too, and lots of 4 in 1 convertible cribs to choose from, at reasonable prices...
I'm having to be a bargain shopper, hahaha since I am buying two of everything...
Yeah I have nothing left over from my last, he's 6 now. Everyone I know has girls now. Someone gave me the crib, and when we put it up, we noticed its very wobbily. So I'm thinking i'm going to have to buy one. I'm so glad and excited to here that Babies R Us has layaway........... I've bought like a few outfits, nothing major at all though. My best friend bought me a baby book already. I think i'm running behind also but it will all come together at the end I'm sure.
OMG I am so behind, I can't believe it, you guys have really gone all out. I think it is great when you have hand me downs from relatives, sadly all of mine recently had girls and mine is a boy. But I think I really want to start buying all the big stuff also b/c then we have to do all the school shopping and like someone already said we will then be too big and not want to do all the extra shopping. I also thought I was crazy for also wanting to pick a crib and changing table, but I think what I am going to do is but the table and put the crib in lay-a-way ( I just found out that Babys R Us has lay-a-way). I really have nothing left over from my youngest she is already 5 so I have NADA.
wow my dh is telling me to wait our moms ought clothes, and i thinkk we wil have more then we need plus i bought some tha i couldnt resist, otheer then that i have only bathtub thermometer regular one and thats it:((((( we waiting for june to start bigger shopping
I have purchased already - two drawers full of clothes, a twin stroller, twin carseats & infant headrests, 2 boxes of diapers, a changing table and crib, nursery bedding sets, two mobiles, a baby bathtub, stuffed animals and even bought some "baby's first books." LOL And I think I am going to order two playpens today.
It sounds like I've bought a lot, but since I'm expecting two, it's really minimal, compared to what I will actually need. I'm already becoming huge & uncomfortable, so I'm kinda glad I've got a lot of this out of the way already.
But, we still have so much to do! Cribs and dressers and swings, etc - the big stuff - to buy and put together,,, etc.
Is it too early to be going all out like this? LOL
35Mom~19 weeks (twins arriving by the end of August)
I have about a basket full of clothes, and now my crib is up. So far that's all I've bought. I'm waiting until after my baby shower to get more stuff.
I just had a baby 7 months ago, so I dont need much. I have to get a double stroller and a crib since my youngest will still be needing his for a while longer. I cant think of anything eles I need except clothes that arent blue:) I have bought 2 little dresses but thats as of yet. I cant wait to buy more though:-)
i haven't bought a thing yet!! it has been really nice with having some friends and an aunt who have kids that are still really little...so far i have received a crib, 2 carseats, an excersaucer, a walker and a stroller. all of them are like new and i wouldn't have taken the carseats unless i knew who they came from (which is my aunt, the carseats i would have NEVER bought 2nd hand) i ideally wanted to buy everything new, but with dh's boss getting hurt in jan., having severe brain damage and the business going under, plus the added expense of dh's car accident, we have a very, very small budget. we are doing the best we can to keep our home right now. ugghh, sorry to go off on a tangent!! lol i do have a lot of stuff left over from my daughter, i will have to go through the tubs in the basement and see exactly what i saved!!
I got excited with the news that is was 90% girl.....so I've been doing some shopping:
all the clothes I need for the next 3 months
plent of receiving blankets
crib bedding - skirt, comforter, sheet and bumper
infant car seat
bouncing vibrating chair
pack and play - playpen
tummy time mat
two swadling blankets
baby hangers
two binkies that I got for free
two bottles that I got for free
3 newborn diapers that I got for free
I've been putting stuff in the shed for now.
Well, this is my first. I have like one pack of Huggies newborn diapers (I had a coupon) and two bottles that I got for free. My family bought the baby stuff for Easter, and we have a few onezies that we had since our trip to Florida. I do have one bin with stuffed animals and the onezies, but it's not overflowing too much yet! Oh, and my sister bought the baby a Buildabear, that is in it's box still.
As I have DD who is 22 months and I am expecting twin girls, I havent bought any clothes or anything yet.
So, I have just bought a double stroller for the twins, and a new Boujie Baby Basilia bag :)
I am trying really hard to resist. Then again, this is my fourth baby and my third BOY in a row, so I don't need much..= )
I am trying not to buy clothes, since that is what I have so much of, but they are the most tempting! So cute, those tiny things!! But I have all my boys' clothes in the basement in boxes labeled newborn, 0-3 months, etc.
So i am trying to save my money for some of the non-clothing items I need, like a monitor, sling, car seat/stroiller combo, etc.
