Braxton Hicks?

I posted this in the pregnancy 18-34 forum also....I am almost 29 weeks pregnant with my third child. I have been having what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions ALOT in the last week. I have them atleast 5 or 6 or more times in an hour. I have googled Braxton Hicks and everything says the same thing.  It tells me to drink more water which I have and they still won't stop. They are tightening my stomach so much and they are extremely uncomfortible. It also says that we get them to prepare our bodies for child birth in weeks to come. Could this mean I am going to go into labor early? I am huge with constant pelvic pressure.  This is so confusing. If anyone could help that would be great. Thank you

I have been having them alot, too.  This is my 4th child, so it seems like it may have something to do with that??  I don't remember feeling them with my first, or maybe I just didn't know what they were.

Anyway, these are stronger, more frequent, and I wouldn't say painful, but uncomfortable at times.

Let us know what your doctor says?!!

About 2 weeks ago I had the same problem. I was having major BH all day long. Being that this is my 4th child they have gotten painful! I have never went into early labor so I really freaked out. After 2 days they stopped and now I have only gotten a few a day. I know that BH and slowly help you dialate. I have always been at 5 cm or more when I go into labor so its scary not knowing if its real or not. If this had been my first pregancy and BH woulda felt like this I woulda been in the hospital for every pain, lol.

In our Lamaze class they tell us that for the Braxton Hicks contractions to drink water, change your position such as if you are walking to lay on you left side or if you are laying down to get up and walk and if they stop then they are Braxton Hicks contractions.  I don't necessarily know if it means that you are going to go into early labor.  Our Lamaze teacher tells us that they are called practice contractions so you could have a few in an hour.    Braxton Hicks are just a tightening of the stomach but if they are true contractions then they will go from the back to the front or from the front to the back.  I hope this helps
