Breasts producing liquid at 10 weeks?

As of a few days ago, my breasts are producing liquid (I wouldn't say that it's milk, but I wouldn't swear that it isn't either).  I've also gone up more than a cup size already.  It's not a lot as yet, but I wonder if this is normal or not.   I also lactated for about a week and a half after a 9 week chemical abortion back in May of '08, so maybe I just start really early or something.  The earliest I could possibly see a doctor would be the 28th, so any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Good to know, thanks.  It hasn't stopped, but it only comes out if I squeeze them.

Of course all these hormones in your body are making things topsy and turvey.  What you are seeing probably colostrum (sp?).   In general you see this towards the end of your pregnancy, you will also have this right after the baby is born (for the few days before your milk comes in).  It should probably stop soon....it's just the hormones in your body right now.  And it's not abnormal.

I went in to the clinic at my school to get more vitamins.  I asked the nurse practitioner there about it, she said it wasn't dangerous, but to see her if it turned black or green.  No explanation as to why it would happen this early though.

i agree with jax...i don't think this is uncommon, everyone's bodies are different.  i am 10 wks. today and already producing a clear fluid from my breasts, but i did breast feed my other 2 children until they were a year old (my youngest is now 4 yrs. and the oldest will be 7yrs. next month) so i don't know if that has anything to do with it!?!  i have read in some of my "mommy to be" books that women can start to produce milk very early on!!  i wouldn't worry, but definitely ask your ob about it!!  best of luck and keep us updated!!  :)

I'm not sure but I suppose it can happen at any stage. Everyone is different. It seems early, but anything is possible. I'm interested to hear what your doctor says when you get in to see him/her. Let us know. Sorry I wasn't of more help to you. But I'm sure you're fine. Good Luck...
