My hair hasn't changed at all and for some reason I only have a touch of acne on my back.
drmwvrjean-yes I think we forget fast about the bad stuff. Only a couple weeks ago I was dying from the 3 months of 24 hour sickness and throwing up and swore it was the worst thing ever, and that this baby better be worth it and just thinking I was dying and there was no hope LOL! Now...I am feeling so much better I laugh when i read back to my baby journal of how much of a hard time I was having. I guess as they say "this too shall pass" and at my next u/s if everything looks OK, I am going to comletley forget about all those hard days :)...of course I have never been through labor yet, so I will get back to you on that one!
yes, it actually does...it can either cause really greasy hair or dry and brittle hair!! gotta love those hormones!! :) i remember with my first 2 that it usually passed in the middle of the 2nd trimester. hey, i think we just stumbled onto an idea...pregnancy shampoo!! lol
I was seriously wondering about the greasy hair thing...is that a product of pregnancy? Sometimes I can wash it in the morning and by the evening, it feels gross. I've never had this problem before and have even tried numerous shampoos, even leaving out conditioner (and boy did that hurt when I was trying to plow through the knots!). Does pregnancy cause this?
martinsbride....LOL i feel ya on this one!! i remember when my mom was alive she would often tell me how much she LOVED being pregnant, how beautiful she felt when she was, etc. i looked in the mirror this morning (after losing my breakfast) and seeing my face full of acne, greasy hair (although it was freshly washed just last night) and wondering if she was just insane when she was preggers!! j/k...my ex told me last night that i was like this when i was first pregnant with our two kids, but when i look back, i just remember being happy and joyous over the lives growing inside of me!! i guess these times are a lot like the pain you endure with labor....it all fades away and you don't remember all the nausea, acne, greasy hair, etc...the joy replaces it when you first get to hold that tiny life that was created inside of you!! :) i hope the nausea subsides for you soon, but if not, know you are NOT alone!! lol take care and have a great day!! xxxxxxxx
I'm so tired of food. I've gotten to the point where I dread hearing, "What would you like for supper?" Nothing. And more nothing tomorrow night would be awesome.
I want food, on some basic level, but I FEEL so sick all the time. I never throw up, I just live with the nausea that comes before it 24/7. Why did I ever think being pregnant was glamorous?
glad to hear that everyone is "hanging in there" so to say!! lol i am too hoping that the nausea passes soon...one day i would just LOVE to eat something that i know will not come back up again!! :) my family is getting tired of take-out and simple meals...it's hard to cook with the different smells wafting around the kitchen!! the dh is getting tired of eating all the weird stuff that i am craving!! lol anywho, hope this finds everyone having a great week and blessings on your day/week!! xxxxxxxxxxx
Its getting -better-... I'm still having 'off' days tho. I'm hoping that means the nausea is on its way OUT!? haha Anyway, thanks for asking... Hope all is well with everyone else!
Thanks for the information. I don't know anything about it so it does make sense that you don't want to deliver to early. I am definitely going to talk to the regular OB about it on Friday when I go.
I'm feeling like cr@p!!! but i know i'd be nervous if i wasn't, so there's no winning :P
My sickness seems to be getting worse than better. I now puke about twice/day. My boobs have just started to get really sore. Still having problems with high heart rate and shortness of breath. hopefully things will start to calm down in the next few weeks.
i'm not positive, but i think it's unusual for a doctor to be predicting a c-section at 36 weeks due to placenta previa. definitely talk to your regular OB. From being on here a long time, i have read many many cases where the placenta previa resolves itself by the middle of the pregnancy. if you want, you can ask on the pregnancy or maternal/child forum and see what kind of answers you get.
I would NOT recommend a c-section at 36 weeks. I had to have one at 36 weeks and DD had many feeding issues due to being so early. In fact, i am pretty sure that unless there is an emminent threat, c-sections are not scheduled prior to 38 weeks. Newest studies warn against scheduling them before 39 weeks.
anyways, congratulations on hearing the HB!
I am feeling good. The pregnancy is finally feeling real since we told all our family and friends yesterday. We had an u/s on Friday which was exciting. We got to hear the heart beat for the firs time . It was 168. We go next friday for the test for down syndrome so hopefully things will be alright. The doctor also said that he things I might have a placenta previa. Hopefully the regular OB will be albe to tell us for sure on Friday. He said that if we do then we have to have a c-section at 36 weeks.
jenn, i am so sorry to hear you have a uti!! i hope everything works out ok and goes well with your your doctor appointments...you will have to keep us updated!! :)
I am 9 weeks 2 days today, and I'm tired. Today is my one year anniversary from my lumbar fusion! Feels so weird that last year at this time, I wasn't even sure I would be able to be pregnant, and now I am! It was a decision I would do again in a heartbeat! I'm currently on antibiotics for a UTI, and I think the antibiotics are making me more nauseaus than just being pregnant. I will be glad when I finally get off of them this week. I have a follow up with my neurosurgeon this week and I have my first OB appt on Feb. 3 (my first appt was with my GYN, he doesn't deliver anymore). I should be 10 weeks and 4 days for my appt.
glad to hear that you ladies are doing well...that's awesome!! good luck on your scan tomorrow, puopci!! i always loved going in for mine!! :) dani, in my first pregnancy, i felt my son kick around 20 wks. it was out of the blue...i had felt "butterfly" twinges around 15-16 wks, but i will never forget the day i really felt him kick!! :) and from that point on he never stopped!! lol keep us updated on how both your scans go!! :)
i'm feeling fine too, i'm 12 weeks today and i will be having my scan 2moro so i'm really looking forward to that woho :o)
Hey. I am doing OK. Getting excited/nervous about my 14 week u/s on the 3rd!
Also, since I am 13 weeks now I am starting to get excited about feeling the baby kick for the first time. Wondering when you ladies who have been pregnant, when you felt it during your first pregnany?? They say not to expect it until at lest 18 weeks for your first.
Also, feeling REALLY tired!
