Looking for pants...

Sadly, I used to have these pants from Lerner New York, with no button closure, instead, just a front panel, and they had some give.  They were perfect for the office, or a night out.  I stupidly threw these away after I joined the Air Force and lost 20 pounds.  Now I'm starting to get bigger around the middle and I need to find some decent pants for going out to a nice restaurant.  Any ideas?

my last pregnancy I found some maternity clothes at Kohls... and you can catch sales there, even on their maternity stuff.

The other place i found the cheapest maternity clothing was actually at Burlington Coat Factory. Their maternity section was HUGE (at least by me) and generally very cheap. They carry a mish-mosh of all different brands and designers.

I am also 5' 1." I think the only place I found pants that didn't have to be altered was Destination Maternity. I think they were $20-$25

martinsbride- how many weeks are you now?  I am now starting to have major hunger.  Being a really healthy vegeterian before I got preg. and now eating things with fat and cheese, I am bound to gain weight fast.  I don't care right now though, I am so happy not to have to see my food...twice, that as long as it sounds good, I am eating it.  I also still have problems with smells and get nauseas sometimes, but it is not nearly as much as the past weeks, so I am OK with it.  I even started light work outs which feels great.  I am just waiting for the tiredness to start letting up. Some days I find it worse.
I hope you start feeling better soon, there is nothing worse than feeling like you have the flu 24 hours a day!

Heh, I remember 131...straight out of Basic two years ago.  Before that the last time I saw that number was 1999.  I gained a lot in the first few weeks because something was triggered and I just kept eating, but have lost some since with all the nausea.  It's still not letting up.  I ate some soup for lunch and when I got through the smell hit me and I almost lost it.

You must have been looking at the same web sites as me.  There are SO many different options.  I stepped on the scale today and am up to 131...I guess I am gaining weight fast since I have stopped vomiting, but it so far all seems to be right in my stomach.  I wonder if they have butt panels if my butt starts getting bigger LOL!

You know, I don't know, except that the pants I had just had a panel front (e.g. no buttons, zipper, etc), and they stretched a bit.  Comfy as everything.  Beyond that, I was pretty confused looking at all of the pants last night and have decided to hit up the shops tomorrow when I am back in FL.

martinsbride- Ha, I am with you, I am 5 foot even.  Even the pants that say they are "short" have to be hemmed.

I was looking at some on the internet last night and was wondering what the difference with all the "panels" were??

Last pregnancy, I loved Motherhood...got a lot of really nice things from there. This pregnancy, I went there and got some stuff and noticed it's much more cheaply made and doesn't fit as well as it used to. I got a pair of jeans and a pair of slacks from there, and I HATE them...lol. I'm constantly pulling them up and trying to adjust them. However, I got some nice slacks and some jeans from JCPenney.com (Bisou Bisou brand) and I LOVE them. They stay up, they are comfortable, and they wash up nice. I like the stuff I've gotten from JCP much better than Motherhood. Good luck in your search!

try destination maternity. they can get a little pricey, but they carry all the designer brands(7's, True Religion, Joe's, etc etc), but they also carry some less expensive brands as well(Mavi, Lucky, It, etc etc) I got mine there and LOVE them... they're soooo worth it!

Lol, I'm glad I'm not the only short person.  At 5'1 it's hard to find anything that fits.  I have pretty much everything altered.

If you are tall you might have a problem with cheaper pants. I am only 5'7 but all the cheaper pants from motherhood, jcpenney, oldnavy, just did fit right and were to short. I ended up going to macy's and bought some jeans that are great A bit pricey ay $118.00 but well worth it if your use to designer jeans as I am.

I too am just to the point of needed to go out and find some maternity clothes.  I have a size up in my closet from when I was a little heavier, but I find they make my legs look huge.  I am just starting to not be able to wear most of my junior size 9's and really need to find some more "30's" appropriate clothes anyway.  It is just hard because the petite dept. has clothes, but are a little too old for me.
I hear Old Navy has some really great maternity clothes...I guess no matter what I will have to hem the legs...I plan to do some maternity shopping when I get to AZ and near some good malls in two weeks...I just hope I can make it till then,

If anyone finds some great deals let me know!

hello, again!!  :)

i would try www.motherhood.com or jcpenny, old navy, etc.  i used to love the styles that motherhood had...they didn't make you look crazy or ridiculous but fashionable and chic and they have a lot of good deals!!  :)  in fact i am on their website now looking for things to wear!!
