Mucus Plus?

Ok, first off, I went to the doc this morning and at 36 weeks and 4 days, I'm 3cm dilated and 50% effaced.  Now for my question...

After I got home, there was a bit of blood in my discharge the first time I went to the bathroom, and the second time, the discharge was slightly pinkish, as was the third round.  However, no time was there a great amount of it or anything.  It was just thick.  Could this be the mucus plug?  And if so, you think I'm still good to keep up my walking?  I walk daily, about 40 minutes in the am, and 25-30 in the pm.

Just an update...  Just got off the phone with the doc's office.  They say I'm good to keep walking.  I'm hoping between the walking and the heat, maybe it'll bring something on.  :)

i agree with rdh....

i am in the exact same boat...3 cm dilated and 50% thinned out, but i haven't had any "show" yet!    i found out yesterday how i am progressing and all my doctor said is that if i started labor, he wouldn't stop it, and we are the same length along...i am also in my 36th week.  i would call your o.b. and discuss what is going on with them!!

good luck and let us know what is going on!!  :)

It does sound like you are starting to loose your mucus plug. Sadly this could go either way. You could be in labor in the next few hours/day or you could actually go full term.  I have read that the babies head could also be used like your "plug" and stop things from progressing.

As for the walking that is up to you. It may bring on labor and if you are okay with that, then walk it up girl!!!!!

Did you call your ob and inform them on what happened when you got home???
