6w5d ultrasound with no yolk sac!

Hello all!! I am 6w5d pregnant(due Aug.25th)but had to go to the hospital yesterday because i had some very mild bleeding. The Dr. did and exam and said that the bleeding had stopped and my cervix was closed. He did an HCG test and it was at 10561 (one week before that it was at 3592). He sent me for an ultrasound to be safe and found that there was a gestational sac that measured what would be normal for 5w4d, there was no yolk sac or embryo.  The Dr. didn't really say much to me other then i should go back in 1 week and have another ultrasound done. I am really worried now that i have a blighted ovum.

A little history: My  LMP was Nov.18th. I got a positive HPT Dec. 15th and had a HCG test done Dec.16th. that came back at only 15. My dr. told me it was so early and to wait 2 weeks and come back again for another HCG. I did and that test (Dec.29th) came back at 3592.

PLEASE HELP!!! I am so worried!!!

Thank you so much....!!!! I have just told myself to relax and what will be will be. The only good thing is I started to have some morning sickness this morning( i never thought i would say that is a good thing), I guess that means things are moving along. I really truly in my heart believe everything will be ok, i just need to relax. I do think it was just to soon, it's just that you always think the worse when things aren't 100% "Normal" compared to other people.

Hi I was going over some post and found one on here from a physican, the question was similar to urs, the doctor replied it was not uncommon to see the yolksac, or heartbeat or fetal pole until 6 weeks pregnant, she said especially on a er scan. I hope u find comfort with my post, everything will be great!

I rememeber with my first child, they ran a unltrasound around 4-5 weeks and I do recall them saying that I was 2 early to see they baby I was thinking about it last nite, I always have my worries about my 3rd pregnancy as it has been along time since i was i pregnant my oldest is nine and my second is 5, I have had alot of twinges of pain with this pregnancy it has seem to stopped by a couple of weeks ago they were for sure there, Ive asked to see the doctor but they told me it doesnt do any good until 8 weeks, your not alone, They told me unless I was bleeding heavy and cramping bad its best to wait, You would think by now I would know all the ends and outs and I really cant remember anything but lots of morning sickness,

No it was natural. I tracked my CM and i normally get cramping on the day of ovulation. My cycle is normally 30-34 days long . The only thing is i did not get a positive HPT until 2 days before my expected period(what would have been 15day after what i thought was my ovulation date.)  I went to the Dr. the next day and had my HCG done and that is when i got the level of 15. From what i have heard a level of 15 is normally what you get 2 days after implantation? I never got any bleeding and i only had some cramping for like 2 mins. in the morning of the day i took the pregnancy test.

Wow Im sorry to hear ur stressing out about this and I would think that it would be easy to do, just reassured every pregnancy is diffterent so it is possible u were just 2 soon for the ultrasound, they say the heart doesnt begin to beat before 6 weeks anyways, Im just curious were u under fertility treatment is that why they ran a hcg test? I actually had implantion bleeding first it was cramping for one day and then spotting for three days that was about 6 days before my period was due, I had taken hpt test even before the spotting came and it showed a postive, I monitored it with hpt test since i had a lots of them to see if the line continued to get darker and darker.

Thank you so much for your help and kind words! You don't understand how much it means to me, I know i try to tell myself it was just really early but it is so hard not to worry, i just wish i never got that ultrasound done now!!
I think the internet is my worse best friend because i read about all these other people that saw "a heartbeat, embryo and yolk sac," so soon and i could not even see anything. I have a feeling that i implanted a week later then i thought because of what my first HCG levels were at.

I am sooo sorry that you are going through this. Try not to stress( easier said than done) because your baby needs a quiet womb is nestle into. stressing would just upset the process. I wll be praying for you just as how i do for all the ladies here. Try to stay strong and positive. Keep me posted.Pray and just hope for the best.

Hi

I saw this on the net one time. Hope it gives you encouragement at this point. Copy paste the link below. It talks of how some women have retroverted uterus which makes it had to see the lil bean till much later like 9 wks.

It's common not to be able to see the fetus until into the 6th week of pregnancy. if the sac is only measuring 5w4d then try not to be worried as of yet. by the time next week comes along you'll be able to see your lil bean with the heart beat and all. Just try to relax until then. Your HCG lvls seem to be going up and that's all that matters. according to my LMP i am due August 25th too, but considering I have a long cycle I am going to guess they are giong to move my due date at least 4 days later and that isn't putting into consideration of when implantation happened. what i am trying to tell you is 5w4d isn't an unreal date to be at and it's def not unreal to not be able to see the baby in an ultrasound.
